I have been to this fountain several times and the grandeur of the setting makes quite an impression. …At the base of capital hill in Hartford, The sculptor and the benefactor clearly did not understand native Hartford cultures, as the indigenous people portrayed seem to be mostly plains Indians. With historical inaccuracies aside, it was made in the late 1800s and an homage to the patrons father but also to indigenous people of this area. I for one love it, it’s beautiful and in need of some TLC. But overall worth a stop to see it. There were benches around the fountain in which to be able to sit and enjoy it. Thought it was nicely done with that of Native Americans. Seemed to be working fine as well.
