The only thing worth it at the capital is the building itself. The elected officials no matter what party are absolutely useless. A governor who could care less about the residents and more concerned about photo ops and taking down neighbors trees and lies instead of fessing up. Needs to go back to Greenwich and stay there with his rich neighbors instead of the working class people who make up most of this state. Not just the 5% of millionaires in that section of the state. None of those so called elected officials care about people's everyday problems. They are more concerned about being reelected and the next party they are attending. The men and women are more concerned about breaking a nail then getting their hands dirty. I am am independent. So during the next election cycle in the state I will not be voting for either party. I will vote for someone else just so either party doesn't get my vote. I have been dealing with this state for a very long time. Maybe it's time for me to go to the newspapers and tell them what I know about some departments and how things are covered up that never make the press. This state is not as "pretty"...

Last day visiting CT and decided this was the way to go. Visited on a Monday around noon, and it was not busy at all. We were able to walk in and tour the place ourselves. It is such a neat building with plenty of historic artifacts inside. All the employees were super friendly. People do actually work inside of this building, so it was busy with a bunch of workers trying to make it from one point of the building to the other. Learned a little bit of CT history. We were able to tour the room where the decision was made to make Marijuana legal in CT. About 4 stories tall. We also were able to walk underground over to the legislative building as well! Such neat history is located here also. A lot of comemerative veterans are seen all throughout the walls also which lets you pay many respects throughout your visit. It was such a great last day tour, and I'm...

This is a review for the State of Connecticut. First, do not buy a house here. These people have no culture, nothing that is their own. The people of this state are so stuck in their ineffective thinking that nothing works here. This is a state for a few rich families to live in the woods while everyone else is poor. This is a state where the government claims to be working, but no one answers the phone. There is a fee and a process to everything in this state that is expensive and not convenient. Anyone trying to live here or do business here just gets to give the state and towns money to get nothing in return. In conclusion you may buy a cheap house here but it will never increase in value the way your friend's houses do. Don't come to Connecticut and...

I was only able to view from outside because I came up city for weekend. I truly regret not having the opportunity to take a tour. The online photos are simple beautiful. I did read that it was completed in 1878 and cost 2.5 million which is a very large sum for that era. I was able to view grounds and building. The architecture is simply amazing and very unique. Richard M. Upjohn described the building as "modern secular Gothic." This is a magnificent representation for the citizens of this state. They must be very proud!!! I highly recommend visiting this state capital it has to be one of the best looking in the country.
