Small beach but less busy than Waikki Nice small beach close by Waikki. There is a lifeguard, bathroom (there but wouldn't recommend using them) and outdoor rinse stations here. We parked on the street (meter marking), there is lots of parking. We snorkeled here, there is a sand bar to the left of the beach (towards that flag pole but don't go that far out) and sometimes there are a few turtles here, I didn't see them but my husband did. There is a reef near the beach, careful it's really high and the waves crash over. I just kept to the front of the reef closer to the beach and saw some fish. There's also a large school of fish that hang out just off the beach too in the shallow water. The sand isn't as fine as on waikki beach but it's still beautiful. Lots of people came here to just swim laps too. We came here a few times...
Read moreThis is a very small but rather populated beach on the other side of the aquarium from Queens beach. It is in between to the Waikiki Natatorium War memorial and the Waikiki Outrigger Canoe club. This is a treasured piece of water for locals and visitors who happen to venture this far off from the beaten path. Amazingly peaceful in the early morning turns congested and anything but in the later hours of the day. Protected by a wide reef, the near shore bottom is shallow, sandy, and free of strong currents. Open ocean swimmers and kayakers flock to take advantage of all it has to offer before the hurd of visitors and locals alike show up for their urban oasis. Really convenient location with plenty of parking, toilette facilities and picnic tables makes this a highly...
Read moreThis a quiet place, found in one of the most busiest places on the South--Eastern Shore of Oahu. It's is a patronized by regulars for the park setting, as their first, if not only beach, they tend to frequent. With quite waters, spacious grassy area, showers & Lua, & correct me if I'm mistaken, a conession stand, also. On street parking & zoo parking lot, mauka of the beach, with City buses passing by. I really look forward to seeing the beautiful Ironwood Trees planted by Kalakaua, that must help set the relaxing mood, for those who are in...
