Hau Tree Lanai in the New Ohtani Hotel is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Great for small, casual celebrations, the light, open air setting is shaded (mostly) by the beautiful hau tree. The only thing that separates it from Waikiki Beach is a low wall and fence, so you'll have great views at any time of day! The food is always fresh and very tasty. Everything on the breakfast menu is served beautifully, which then spills over into lunch service. Fresh fish is always a good choice for dinner, with excellent preparation! Service is friendly, pleasant and attentive. It feels like I'm on vacation whenever I eat here. These views might be biased, but can you tell...

One of my favorite beaches on Oahu. The beach itself is pretty nice. Not too rocky and very clean. It’s a little walk away from Waikiki which is always crowded. Kaimana on a good weekday will not be so crowded but as it has grown to become more popular I have noticed that there are more people enjoying this beach now, especially since Rocky the monk seal has been visiting and been spending more time at Kaimana. Nice place to have a BBQ and grassy area for kids to play. Right around the corner of the Kaimana Beach hotel is a convenience store and also a coffee shop. There are many more beaches that are nice as well, but in South area this is one of...

Waikiki ocean waters aren’t known for their pristine waters but for their proximity to Waikiki hotels so don't expect crystal clear water. So what does this beach offer over the other Waikiki beaches? First, Kaimana usually isn’t as crowded as the other Waikiki beaches. It’s where most locals go when going to a Waikiki beach. It has ample parking and the adjacent park allows for outdoor grilling. Second, you’ll probably see green sea turtles if you swim out to the wind sock just off shore. There is a moderate current, so attempt it only if you’re a moderate badass. Don’t make the lifeguards work too hard...

Kaimana Beach is a conveniently located beach in the heart of Oahu, making it easily accessible from Ala Moana and Waikiki. You can occasionally spot monk seals here, and the beach itself is well-maintained, making it great for activities like swimming. However, the parking lot is not very spacious, so parking may require some effort. While shower facilities are available, it's advisable to check on restroom availability. Staying at hotels in the vicinity of Ala Moana or Waikiki makes it convenient to visit and worth considering for a chance to see the monk seals.

Kaimana beach is located right across from the Natatorium and in front of Kaimana beach hotel. There is free street parking but that fills up. If you're willing to walk just a little bit there is a ton of paid parking as well right across the street at Kapiolani park. The beach itself is fairly small but usually calm and it's sand is fairly fine. Snorkeling is pretty good and you'll probably see lots of small fishes. There are showers and bathrooms are located in the Natatorium. The highlight of this past trip was a Monk seal and her pup.
