This is the place my son always played baseball and basketball as a young child. He would meet up with his friends there and it's always been a lovely park. It has great sentimental meaning to me because of this because I lost my son at age 13. However now my little granddaughter enjoys the park on almost a daily basis. The upgrades that were donated due to the death of another child have been an asset to the community for the children. My daughter and son had their prom pictures taken in another area of the park which was also very lovely. The park is generally well taken care of. I only have 1 complaint. The bathrooms are locked up all winter long, which I completely understand. What I don't understand is why we can't have a port a john for the late fall, winter and spring? People use the park all year long, whether it be for sledding, walking, the playground etc. The children and even adults have to use the facilities and don't always live nearby. Also maybe a picnic table or 2? Would that break the budget? So parents and kids could have a picnic lunch? Just saying! Not a complaint just a suggestion! Otherwise love it. Not too much shade by the playground either perhaps we could plant a tree in the near future. We spend our tax dollars on dumber things than that. Or transplant one from a wooded area even better!...
Read moreThis park is a great place to take kids of all ages. They have a newer area for toddlers who may be too small to play in the bigger part of the park. More trees have been planted for shade, I suppose. The bathroom is finally done and accessible! Swing set is in good shape. The vulgar graffiti and trash in the skate park area needs more attention, and maybe a locked gate at night so no one can go in there to do shady stuff. The only downside to this park is the parking lot which has a lot of rocks and potholes at the entrance. When cars drive in and out of the parking area a huge dust cloud forms, which is not good for kids (or anyone) to be...
Read moreThis park is adorable and super clean. Plenty of play space for the kids and shaded spring area for the parents. We have brought our children here twice now. This past Friday they had a farmer's market going on. This plays a huge role in giving back to the local farmers and homesteaders in the community. The only con is the gouging prices for the nearby icecream stand. $3 for a small? Either way, this park is worth the out of way commute for us and maybe a stop while passing by for you? The story behind this park is bitter sweet, but I'll leave that for whomever for when...
