Went in late September and loved it. The leaves were just turning along the trail. 5 miles out, 5 miles back. Some things to know and tips: BRING A CUSHION FOR YOUR lower BACK! The seats are hard plastic and your lower back can get very sore. Show up at least 15 minutes before and check in at the blue tent. Portable toilets are on sight in the parking lot. Bottled water was for sale $1. 3.Matt and his crew were very informative. The bikes hold 2 or 4 people and you will be assigned to a bike. The bikes are human powered as well as an electric motor backup. You sit side by side and the RIGHT SIDE SEAT controls the electric motor gas pedal so, choose who you want to have that responsibility ahead of time. There are 3-4 cup holders in between the two seats and a wire 12”x12” basket for storage. There are “guide bikes” at the front and back of the train. Bike workers operate and ride on these throughout the trip. The trip is 5 miles out and 5 back for a total 10 mile trip. You will see the same things and be riding on the exact same trail when returning. The bikes will ALL be attached at first until we all cross over 3 streets. At that point the guides will “ detach” the cars from each other and, you will be free to begin pedaling or using the electric motor pedal, keeping a safe distance from the bike in front of you. You can ride at your own pace and there is no required distance you must stay behind or ahead of the other bikes but, a steady pace is necessary. The guides will instruct you to all wave your arm in the air should the need to slow down arise. This warns everyone behind you to slow down. A raised arm with a solid fist by the guides means there is a need to STOP. A cable running down the center of the bike and within arms reach while sitting is used as a breaking mechanism. You’ll want to familiarize yourself with just how hard you’ll need to pull up to stop the bike ahead of time. The seating will be adjusted and locked down by the guides before the bikes move once. Everyone must be comfortable and the pedals must spin freely to avoid having your feet or legs injured. We did see 2 Eagles on the ride as well as old remains of years gone by along the tracks. The entire process is reversed once you reach the 5 mile stop with the guides switching the seat around as well as the need to adjust the seat distance just like at the beginning. The ride back will probably require the electric motor pedal use as most legs may be tired. Again, the electric motor pedal is on THE RIGHT SIDE and will be operated by the person occupying the RIGHT SIDE SEAT. The entire trip is 2 hours so plan accordingly. Remember that you will be exercising while pedaling and to dress...

This is overall a nice outdoor activity to do if you never tried it out before. Try to get your tickets ahead of time because they sell out fast. The booker ensured we didn’t miss our reservation so I appreciate that. There was plenty of parking. There are port a potties and water on site. The bikes have cup holders and baskets in case you want to bring a bag along. The tour guides were really friendly and helpful. You start off in a big group with everyone else on the tour. But after a few minutes, the guides detach the bikes so you’re just riding with the party you came with. The pretty views of the water were the highlight of the trip.

This is a fun activity to do if you want a workout while getting out the house. But we were expecting it to be a relaxing trip lol. We were under the impression that we could pedal or use the electric motor if we got tired. We found out very quickly that the electric motor was not powerful enough to move the bikes at all. We heard the motor come on but it would almost come to a complete stop whenever we stopped pedaling. So we found ourselves having to pedal for the entire 2.5-3 hour trip. If we took a break, we would be slowing down everyone behind us. The bike behind us was almost touching us whenever used the motor alone.

This probably wouldn’t be a big deal for active people but we are a little out of shape so it was rough 😂. We aren’t familiar with e-bikes so I’m not sure if the battery was dead, the motor was broken, or they are really designed to go that slow. It was a little disappointing to find out since we spent $130 to try this. Another party had their bike chain break off during the trip. 😳The staff handled it very well and let the rest of us continue while they got them a replacement. Despite those issues, it was still a unique experience and we...
