My wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and wanted to go someplace different. Someplace that had a nice atmosphere, good food, good service and not cost a fortune. A neighbor recommended this place. Said he'd heard the food was great even though he hadn't been there himself, so we gave it a shot. Let me tell you this, we're Italians from Brooklyn and as I'm sure anyone who knows Italians, knows how important good food is to the family sitting at a table sharing their meal and conversation. Dinner for italians is an event. On a scale from 1 to 10 this place was a 15 !! The atmosphere was great, the service was great (we had Michael as our server), the food, which is most important, was phenomenal !! We have several great italian restaurants in Brooklyn and New York City and I have to tell you, this place blew them away. The food was not only DELICIOUS but it was plated elegantly, and the PORTION SIZES are something I can honestly say I've never seen anywhere. To top it all off, we just happened to arrive at about 5:40 pm. Their Early Bird menu ends at 5:45 pm, so we took advantage of the 4 course meal for $25 pp. Spectacular value !! Appertizer, salad, entree, coffee and cannolis all for $50 and the early bird portions are the same size as when not getting the early bird. I had the Salmon Carciofi. I always order salmon. I love salmon. This was the largest portion of salmon I've ever gotten anywhere. Probably 3 to 3 1/2 times the portion you would normally get. Needless to say we have found our new favorite italian restaurant ! Sorry Brooklyn...and by the way, just so you know, this is the first time in my life I've ever given a review for any place, restaurant or not, that I've...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant many times during my summer trips to P.A.with my family who own a home here. Everytime the food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was impeccable. We typically eat dinner and than see a local show at the theather. This time was definitely a huge disappointment. We were ensured that our 5:30 P. M reservation would be more than enough time for our 8:00 P.M show. Our first indication that tonight's experience would be out of the norm was the waitress' attitude to my brother's order; we were taken back by her snarky response to his dinner order, "you know it's enough for two". It took from 5:30- 6:30 P.M to be served our appetizer and salad. During this time we saw several tables come and go. Each of these tables ordered about the same as we did. We asked the waitress what was going on with our entree as we needed to leave by 7:50 P.M to make our show and she responded that she saw it and she knows and while walking away several of us saw her roll her eyes. We did not receive our entree until 7:30 P.M. When she placed my meal down she said, "see only two minutes". This was clearly not enough time to enjoy our meal and we were not given the opportunity to even order a dessert. We had to rush and eat what we could before bagging it up to go.
I am completely taken back by this experience and do not understand how this can occur. My family does not plan on coming back to this restaurant in the foreseeable future and hope future customers see this review when choosing their dinning experience. Make sure to get a reservation several hours in advance when reserving...
