This would be zero if zero existed Shauna (the owner) accused me of lying, so I will include the proof.
I was quoted by text, the set I was interested in would be $130. 3 prices listed on the web with the claim that they do not charge extra for added fullness. (None over $200).
I showed Maria (lash tech) a photo of myself in the past where I had eyelashes the way I liked. Not once did she mention there was a cost difference, or that this was any different from the mixed style I was quoted. (This will be important later).
So before seeing a mirror, eyelashes felt like nothing was on there. But ohhhhhh..... wow..... these were much too dramatic for my conservative job. I was a little in shock, I mentioned to her this wasn't what I was asking for and was too much. I went to the bathroom, composed myself and asked her if we could trim a little towards the inner eye and why it didn't look long and short as I had asked for. She told me it had to do with the way my eye curved, that it would be less noticeable with eyeliner, that when we did a fill the next time she could add shorter lashes. at this point I am disappointed but resolve that I will pay the $130 and make due for 2 weeks until I could fill
I go to pay, I asked Maria what the PayPal email address was so I could send money. She has to wait for her boss to text me to provide it. *this is where it goes really bad. Text messages will show....
The manager sends me the email, and then immediately texts that it will be $210!!!!!!!!! I am Already pretty upset I was gonna pay $130 for leaving looking like ** but now she is telling me it's $210 because I used boxed lashes??!!! And also that Maria's next appt was waiting (making me feel that any resolution of this situation was not going to be resolved with Maria, nor would the lashes be fixed).
That's not the pricing quoted and at no time did anyone mention a significant price increase. I wanted to talk to her face to face, yet she wasn't in the building. As her texts feel more like bullying and as it was my fault that she didn't relay to her employee what I asked for, or that her employee did not disclose a difference, I felt scammed. I was livid. I was sitting in her waiting room and just getting madder by the second, that I left. Yes, I walked out. I just needed to cool off and figure out the best way to approach the situation with the owner. I didn't answer her calls because at that point I wanted the text proof because obviously she was going to be confrontational. She blew up my phone. I responded by text.
This is where the final straw was. I have crazy eyelashes, owner is crazy, she threatens to "call it in" like she is gonna call the authorities, and I think fine! All because I needed a few minutes to compose myself over this disaster! I wasn't responding anymore. You call in in and I will yelp it in.
Maybe if you actually sent a text message asking me about what happened because it's apparent that Maria never disclosed differences, and I sustained an eye injury.
Yelp brought me to you, but I hope anyone who reads this will be cautious about working with you and not made to feel bad about standing up for a bad service. Customer service is obviously not your priority with the way you messaged me.
So you lure people into your place with 3 levels of pricing none of these are over $200 nor is there anything on there that mentions a more expensive set.
I felt like this was only to bait and switch but not actually switch. Omg this is the biggest con.
Additional note, I did sustain a scratch to the eye during the lashes in which I had to go to my optometrist for treatment less than 48 hours after having my lashes done.
Be cautious to this lash factory and even more cautious at how much experience the esthetician has in applying them.
It's been 4 full days and half my lashes have fallen out, others...
Read more!!!EDIT!!!: The manager, Vee, reached out to me today and informed me that this (below) is NOT their standard way of operating and that the front desk associates were wrong in how business was conducted over the phone. She explained that she used my situation as a teachable moment for the staff. I actually really appreciate the acknowledgement and professionality as she was super kind and apologetic on behalf of her staff. I will return in two weeks for another fill and have edited my rating from two stars to five as my lashes always look amazing when I leave and the lash tech I frequent is extremely pleasant!
I have been going to this facility on and off since 2020. I have never no-showed or cancelled a scheduled appointment. Yesterday at about 4:30 PM I had gotten into a car accident that left the back wheel of my car bent inward, therefore, rendering my vehicle undriveable. I had a lash appointment at 5:30 PM. I called to see if I could reschedule for obvious reasons at which time they informed me that they would be charging me $50 for doing so. Mind you, I have a police report and several pictures to substantiate the incident. My brother ended up coming and waiting for the tow truck to get my vehicle and my girlfriend came to get me so I could have a vehicle to get to my appointment. Essentially, I had to bend hell itself to try to get to my lash appointment to prevent being charged for services that I didn't receive. Which is made that much more frustrating when you consider that this is something I already have to budget for every month to afford--something their price increases have certainly not helped. I used to pay $70-ish for the fill I get every two weeks and now it is $90 not including tip.
I hate that I have a great relationship with my lash tech because I am going to miss her, but I am currently searching for a new lash place/person. I understand why certain policies are in place as I'm sure it is to prevent people from cancelling or no-showing last minute. But to not allow room for life to happen is completely unethical and no way to keep loyal, returning clients. Especially when there is evidence to substantiate the circumstances. I really liked this place...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Livbay Lash and I’m pretty disappointed with the outcome. I have had lashes in the past. I don’t get them done regularly but like to when I go on vacation, and in this case have a very early and busy work schedule. The customer service was fine and Bri was very nice but I don’t love the look of my lashes at all. I asked for “more than a natural look but not dramatic,” and even explained the style of lashes I like to wear which she was familiar with. I ended up looking like I have baby caterpillars on my eyelids, same length across and way too thick. I didn’t complain because I thought maybe in a week or so when they start shedding I would be thankful to still have lashes. However, the next morning my lashes were falling out all over the place! For the record, I am very aware of how to care for lashes, and no I did not get them wet or use any product AT ALL in that time period. I was literally having my morning coffee and kept watching little clusters fall out next to my cup. Then I found them all over my bathroom floor. I’m leaving the review because I’m in a catch 22. I actually wanted some to fall out because they were so thick but now (3 days later) it is apparent that it was just a waste of money. I don’t want to go back for several reasons: I don’t have the time (like I stated, busy work schedule. About 30 minutes from my house. I don’t want more lashes, but clearly there’s nothing I can do to make the current lashes stay on.
So I guess I’m just stuck in a place where I just let them fall off and and have regret that I spent $180 for basically nothing.
I’m updating as it has been one week and I’ve lost most of my lashes. It is my personal belief that lashes should be cleaned before application, which did not happen, and probably why they’re falling off. Perhaps Livbay can take this into consideration before the service. This is the only time that I’ve gotten extensions that this wasn’t done and the...
