Whitney Ranch Recreation Center — Attraction in Henderson

WARNING!! this Rec center will hire volunteers as coaches that have had “terrible complaints” from parents and other coaches and it doesn’t matter how horrible and bad the complaints are the Rec center will NOT TAKE ACTION because in my opinion they have some sort of connection with the Umpire. On Friday, April 23 of 2021 the coach of “The Bandits” turned confrontational IN THE MIDDLE OF A GAME IN PRESENCE OF ALL TEAMMATES (11-13 yo) toward the opposite team, while families and small children watching... “the Umpire claims didn’t see it, according to the umpire he only saw when a parent entered the field and got in the middle of the confrontation addressing to the coach of the “Bandits” telling him that it was not the place to act that way and to please respect the children whom were witnessing such nasty behavior! (Umpire apparently didn’t see anything, only the parent)...only God knows what the confrontational coach yelled back to the poor mother that tried to stop him from striking the other coach)... overall EVERYONE (other coaches of other teams) have complained about this specific coach even parents of kids he coaches due to the fact that he “TELLS THE KIDS HE COACHES:”DO NOT SWING THE BAT AND YOU WILL GET TO WALK AND HAVE MORE CHANCE TO WIN THE GAME” ... and guess what: the people who work for the Rec center has done: NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. His wife works for the Rec center as well... so everything stays “within family”. *Aparently from what it looks like nobody “reads” or “follows” the rules and the Rec Center is okay with that... everything is all over the place and disorganized due to every other month they have a new Rec Director hired probably because they treat him poorly due to the fact that everyone that is hired do whatever they want, and it is very sad because it could be better to give better service to our community!... “wondering if they do review the volunteering coaches criminal record very often because certain behavior of coaches that have family members employed in the same rec center’s demeanor clearly shows that they are not suitable to coach specially children. *Hope someone with a better judgement and higher authority in the rec center read this review and take action for a better service to...

I enrolled my 7 year old son in Karate here a couple months ago and it was a great decision! The first teacher who worked with him is a 9th degree black belt. Having had no experience, my son was a bit apprehensive. The teacher was very understanding but he was also strict because he knows what it takes to make a Karate student great. My son dedicated himself and tried his best. A couple weeks ago was his first test in order to rank up to gold belt. We found out last night that he passed! Having this celebrated particular teacher and the other incredibly skilled black belts teach my son has been an awesome experience! It was a sweet victory to hear them critique my son by giving him praise for being so young and yet holding his own and doing so well. The instructors are top notch! Their lessons are worth paying an arm and a leg for, without a doubt. Yet, the classes are offered right here at Whitney Ranch Rec Center which makes them accessible for everyone. What a blessing this has been! I highly recommend Karate here! So much so, that I myself am signing up as well...

I wouldn't recommend sending your child(ren) to Whitney Ranch Community Center. The staff they hire to look after the children are actually children, and have little to no experience on how to handle and deal with children. A staff member inappropriately touched my child, and the supervisor refused to give me the name of the staff involved, so I was unable to make my formal complaint with the City of Henderson. I had to soley rely on the supervisor to make the complaint, and she wouldn't give me a copy of the complaint she stated she made. Instead, they wrote my child up for not listening, and the Staff member who denied punching my son, and poking him in the eye when no one was looking is still being protected by his fellow staff, and is still allowed to work with other children, un-reprimanded! If you have to pay someone to watch your child, don't waste your money, or entrust this center to have your child's best...
