It recently moved to this area and asked a friend of mine for a pakistani grocery store to get groceries and halal meat so he recommended me to go to fair price store located on elden street. I bought groceries and meat and came to the counter for checkout and the guy working at the store put everything in a single bag he stuffed it and while he was handing me the bag and i was almost to tap my card to pay i asked him for another bag he looked at me and said wait while he took another bag but i had already tapped my card so he couldnāt stop or cancel the transaction so he was going to charge me for another bag wow i was shocked and i left came to my car and put the bag and went back inside and asked if he was the owner and he said no so i told him that this was my first time and last time will never come again for the reason he put meat and veggies and drinks and other stuff all together in one single bag and made it heavy it was literally about to rip and most importantly the raw meat could cause contamination also. I told him you supposed to put the meat separately and other stuff. I used to own a store also and never charged someone for a bag or threw everything in one bag and i said i drive a black car and we give free candy and water we have it available for the passengers it costs more than a plastic bag but when you provide service this is just a courtesy to show our appreciation and you are selling groceries and charging money and canāt even a put the items in more than one bag itās not right and thatās not the way to do business you can not be that cheap this is beyond being cheap . i will find another place and give them my business but not to this location or any other location owned by the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a very bad experience at this place, I asked for a small chicken. I was distracted and did not pay much attention as the order was prepared. The person who took my order (person who seemed to be in charge) handed me the chicken with a price tag of $62.71, on it and told me verbally that it was $62.71. I thought the price was off, my wife does most of the shopping, so I am not really good with prices, even so I knew this was off the charts. I knew Halal chicken was costly but not this costly!!! I texted my wife and checked out (thinking back I should not have paid until I spoke to my wife). I did not leave the premises until my wife called back and told me that I was right and the price should have been less than $10. I went back to the cashier and she said the price was right, since she was just going by the price on the label. I went to the meat section and told him the issue, he made a joke about the price of the chicken and then said that I might have got the wrong order, I told him that he handed me the chicken and verbally told me the price. He then backed off and agreed that it was wrong and gave me a refund, he did say he was sorry as I was leaving the store. The real price was $ 7.52 !!! But I was struck how someone who does this all the time can mistake a bag of chicken that is less than 2 pounds to be 8 pounds and charge me $62. His reaction when I returned to the store didn't seem like someone who was apologetic for his mistake. Please read earlier reviews from Usman Umar & suma na which point to similar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but my experience with Fair Price has been so upsetting. Whenever we order there, they usually get one or two of our orders wrong . Usually we don't say anything, since they weren't a big deal. But this time, we needed a particular item that they forgot to include. We called them and they said that someone will come and deliver the item. No one came. Not even a call saying "hey, we can't make it". I called again the next day and they said that they'll deliver it. Again, nothing. The 3rd day I called and instead of apologizing, they got defensive. I understand they may be short-staffed and may have other issues, but please swallow your pride and have some form of professionalism. If you can't make it, please call and let us know instead of saying you'll make the situation right and then do nothing. At the very least apologize and accept your mistake. Heck, if they had said "yeah, we're not replacing your order. too bad" it would have still been a lot better than my experience with them. The reason businesses like this can live despite their lackluster professionalism is because they fill such a niche market,...
