Pupusas Express — Restaurant in Herndon

I’m very disappointed with this place. I have been ordering from this places for a while. The last two times they have messed up my orders I hadn’t said anything because no one is perfect and mistakes happen. But today was enough I order a good amount of food not even half was delivery to our home. I called the place and first the front person put my call on the counter I waited for 5 minutes she didn’t mute it I could hear everything they were saying. I had to hang up and called again. Finally they answer. Front person offers to send messing food or get our money back with no food. I asked to speak with manager because it wasn’t the first time like I stated. Manger blames the missing food on the delivery person. Manager says she can offer us 10% off for our next order, I stated we should get something free or at least a more discount to this order and get our missing food. She declined and said we can either get the missing food or we she can only charge us the food we received and hung up the phone on me. I Called again and we got our missing food with no discount only one apology. I checked the missing food and they messed up the order again by sending us different food. I have worked in the restaurant industry and I know this isn’t the way you respond to a costumer. This place has lost me and my family...

So I'll be honest, not the best looking place to eat but I never judge a book by its cover because I have been surprised numerous times in the past. I have ordered take out from this place before a few times but I wanted to actually take my time to go through the menu and see what they really have to offer. I came here last night and had some of the most delicious Salvadorean food. The "Revuelta Pupusas" Pork and Cheese are definitely ones to try here, they were meaty and not a lot of corn meal which was great. The curtido wasn't as sour pickled as I normally like it and the red sauce was a bit bland but the pupusa itself was tasty enough to where it didn't really need it. The "Tamale de Pollo" was actually very good I enjoyed it very much and the texture was just right filled with stew chicken and potatoes. Now, for the highlight... Their Seafood Ceviche Mixto🐟 was just awesome, the flavors were spot on sour and tangy like it should be and the tortillas chips were a perfect combination with it. I also tried their Plantain Empanadas for dessert which are lightly sweet fried plantains stuffed with a vanilla and cinnamon...

It’s nothing personal with this place! This is an update on my review, after I feeling myself a little better I am writing this update. Last night November 11, 2023 me and husband decided to order and give to this place an opportunity again: 6 pork and cheese pupusas, pick the order, costumer service is really awful but continues at home and start to eat we realized pupusas looks good cooked externally but inside they were nasty not cooked. I had a bad night with nauseas and vomit and my Sunday it was with fever and vomiting after some over the counter medicine I am started to recovery.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR SALVADORAN FOOD ALSO SERVICE IS REALLY AWFUL.
