I have used Fateka to repair or upgrade my PCs in the past. The cost is low enough. I generally pay about $50 or so so it is very much worth it to have a professional work on my computer.
I was having some problems with my main computer which I use for AI. It has a RTX Nvidia graphics card, a XEON processors and 96GB or RAM. The computer was giving me some issues such as the blue screen of death.
They suggested that the case was abit small and the cooling as well as the power supply might be inadequate for what I was doing. They offered to price out a new case.
I asked what it would cost just to build a new computer. They showed me a special that they had the included a RTX 4070 card, and i9 porocessor and 16GB or RAM for $500. I would have to pay more for the case, power supply and more RAM.
I decided to go for a 64 GB configuration. As the board used DDR 5, the RAM was expensive -- but it was about the same price on Amazon. I told them to go ahead and build the computer at just under $2000.00.
On my way home, I got a call, they had a 4080 card with 16GB of VRAM. It had been special ordered but nobody had picked it up. They would give me a deal so that the card would cost me $850 or an additional $150.
I also asked them to use a water cooled system to keep my computer cool. I upgraded the power supply to 1000 watts.
I said sure and went home I had cloned my own solid state drive but unfortunately, the cloning didn't work. they asked if I could bring the older computer in and they would clone the drive for me.
It took over 10 hours to clone my drive. I got a call the my computer was ready. They told me that I would need a license for Micrsoft Windows. I could either buy it from them or order it online. I ordered the key online and they typed in the key.
I also asked them to use a water cooled system to keep my computer cool. I upgraded the power supply to 1000 watts.
I came back and couldn't believe how beautiful the build was. Wow!!!. The RAM had their own LEDs, the RTX 4080 was huge. The case had a glass door that opened to allow one to easily access the components.
Looking at my build, I asked if I could just go ahead and add another 64GB of RAM -- bringing the total to 128GB RAM.
My wife had joined me as I went to pick up the computer. She wasn't interested in the computer but thought that while we were out, we could stop and get lunch.
When it was time to pay, Vladimir asked quietly if my wife knew how much I spent. I told him no problem. The bill came to about $2500.00 -- it was worth every penny.
I got home, I hooked up my over 30TB of external storage. Everything booted up. All my old programs were there. Now it was time to test out the new build. I brought up an AI based image generator called Foocus. Once I typed in the prompt, the speed was amazing. I could generate an image with AI in about 20 seconds.
I believe I got a very good deal. I paid about $2500 for an i9 processor, beautiful case, water cooled system, 128 GB DDR5 RAM, 1000 watt power supply, and a Nvidia RTX 4080. This included the assemly, cloning of my data, and setting up Windows. I added a SSD which I got from Amazon for $100.00 and a Microsoft Windows 11 Pro license.
Vladimir said that I get a 1 year warrenty. This computer is so heavy, i am happy I won't have to ship it anywhere if I...
Read moreI am very dissatisfied with the store to say the least. I came to Fateka as I saw the great reviews on and had a major issue with my hard drive. They informed that they would look into this and that there was no charge for them to inspect the hard drive. I was also told if they could not repair the drive, they would check with me to see if I would be willing to send this off to a data recovery center for a more thorough inspection. I agreed to this and Fateka was not able to access my hard drive and called me to confirm I am fine with sending this off. I agreed and asked if I had to pay shipping. Surprisingly, they said no as this was included in the quote.
A few days go by and I receive a quote in my email for about $1500 for repairs. At the time, I was not willing to do this but considered doing it in the future. I was a little surprised that I did not receive a call to discuss this quote and I had to reach out, however, I did not mind doing so. Unfortunately, this is where the problems began. I spoke with Vladimir, who is the CEO of Fateka, and felt very disrespected during our conversation. When I asked about the details of the repair, he said "you don't need to know computers to understand this repair. It's basic physics." I am an accountant and don't know computers which is why I was hoping they can explain this to me. I proceeded to tell Vladimir that I was going to wait on doing the repair and he said there would be a shipping cost to get the hard drive back. I asked for a rough idea on the cost and he said it would be $20-$25 for shipping, which I agreed to.
A week went by and I hadn't heard anything from Fateka so I called to touch base on the hard drive. They told me they hadn't heard anything yet about the drive from the repair center. Later in the day however, I received an update from Fateka that the hard drive is on the way back and the bill was $50. Surprised, I asked why the jump from $25 to now $50 and was told by Vladimir that this was due to the service to put the hard drive back together and not just shipping. I'm not sure why this wasn't mentioned when I asked how much it would be to get the hard drive back, even if they weren't sure at least letting me know there could be additional fees other than shipping would have been nice to know.
Today, I went to the store to get the hard drive back and pay the $50 which I did. Upon opening the box, I saw the hard drive was still missing it's case, wire, and bumper shield. At this point I am very mad because I thought the additional was to put the hard drive back together. I called Fateka and they said they had the additional pieces still at the store and I could come pick them up.
I was seriously considering having my hard drive repaired by them originally but now they definitely won't be getting my business and if you decline their services, it appears they will disrespect you. Don't go to this store!
UPDATE: I was went to the store and they put the shell back on my hard drive and gave me my wire back. When I checked the hard drive out, I noticed they only put two of the four screws back in the hard drive. I don't own this specific type of screwdriver, nor do I even know where to get these screws so I can install them myself. I can't even begin to comprehend how terrible the customer service is if you don't spend...
Read moreThis is two reviews in one for two service experiences on different dates in resoling two issues with my IT - a printer issue and the other with a virus. Briefly, Fatech IT Advisors is an OUTSTANDING company — I highly recommend them. As a preamble, be for-informed: This is a very clean and professional yet small location situated in the back-side of a large building accessed via a parking lot — with almost half of its space dedicated to its technical work area — with limited product display up front. What you do get going in is outstanding from the start … honest information supporting focused recommendations that adequately support identified options— NO pushy sales — my interests were the total focus! (1) Having anticipated that I would require a new printer (as I thought the clogged nozzles on my printer were beyond repair), I did some web-research on potential replacements. I was professionally greeted, asked some questions that would help them focus upcoming recommendations — and so decided to go with a printer that I had not previously considered (as my very old printer was most likely beyond repair). I left, checked reviews, which confirmed the recommendations. I ordered over the phone, I received new stock from their warehouse in a couple of days. I and my spouse are totally delighted with the purchase. To also note, that product’s customer service (Brother) was also outstanding, providing prompt, friendly, informative guidance in setting up and understanding the various replacement cartridge programs the brand offered. (2) In the other situation, I had panicked because of a potential virus due to accidentally accessing a link on a social media page. I called my internet, phone provider for guidance. They recommended purchasing their technical support plan for monthly cost that offered too much, unneeded excess. I was desperate, so committed to that purchase (thereafter, cancelled a few days later). I called their out-sourced service the next day — it was a nightmare ending in absolute frustration. Then, I realized Fatech. I called and then brought in my equipment. After relatively short discussion in which the representative professionally calmed me, I was provided likely status of the virus and recommendations to include a purchase of a virus checker that would clear the virus at the cost at about 1-1/2 months of the monthly service plan offered by the internet-phone company. The rep installed the program and showed my how to use it; identified, explained, and then resolved known issues with certain web browsers. So, no long wait on the phone, no almost absurd questioning by someone reading a script, not being sent to different service departments — and not being unexpectedly presented with issues that might require repeated calls! Instead, Fatech provided professional, friendly information that resulted in trust, security and appreciation of prompt service at a very, very low cost. Focused on my best interests, I HIGHLY recommend Fatech...
