Refer to Maria's review. Maria and many others including myself have been through this. (In summary - the campus tends to lose paperwork like other schools) I have had friends who have had to talk to the head of financial aid of the campus to get their paperwork corrected.
There was a time where I have waited from 9am to 4pm to speak to someone.
Other than that,
This campus has a cafeteria and a gaming section. The layout is pretty neat and there is pretty much a bathroom everywhere. There is two buildings that are four floors. The parking garage never gets full. On the second floor of the first building, there is a resting area. This campus is getting bigger and bigger as the time passes. The classes that I have taken have great but not so great but that's how every school is going to be. There seems to be a lot of events on this campus such as salsa classes, self defense, public speakers and much more.
Let's talk about the class rooms There are decent sized in where about 25-35 students could fit in. The labs are alright. The library could have a change in where it could be stricter but there could be times (12-1pm) in where there may not be a computer open during the fall. I have found myself trying to focus on my own thoughts when it comes to this. The resource labs / tutoring I have heard are great.
The book store is pretty small but everyone in there is willing to assist you! The programs are getting better. The school is expanding. There is new classes being opened for fall. I would...
Read moreOk, this review is only based in my experience as an ESL (English for adults) in the 3 years and half I spent on this place. For those foreigners students than think Miami is the best place to practice English you better think twice in another city since you are making a huge mistake. Even though MDC is the most fairly decent place to accomplish this hard task but it is not optimum. They are organized in different type of classes and in general they intend to make you look you are really learning English. But MDC has a huge problem. Because most of teachers are native Spanish speakers and mostly Cubans they are strongly biased toward their culture and they make them pass their exams making it a snip. So in general the program strike out. Of course there are exceptions but the expensive English books are barely touched during the season and the teachers are very informal in class. Most Cubans don't really care about English since they all know they are going to get their job easily because of pepito friend. But for those who REALLY care about practicing and learning English it is a real pain.
Now when going to College the panorama kind of changes and it's...
Read moreEDIT #2: Graduation app went through just fine, but nobody had the decency to tell me I "had a student debt" no e-mail, or call.. absolutely nothing (I had no idea of this, till I decided to check online). I've had it with this school and their shitty staff.
EDIT #1 According to the FAO I was missing paperwork, and was told a week before payment was due.
Horrifying, when it comes to Financial Aid. Great miscommunication between students and staff. I'll begin by saying that the freshmen orientation was a JOKE, the staff that "supposedly were there to help" knew less than the freshmen themselves. They didn't explain about the change of residency papers that was needed, and even after I turned the paperwork in which supposedly took 2 weeks to get fixed, I called them right after the two weeks were done and they told me that I needed another document! I had to call Ms.Wendy Guifarro from the department of admissions and registration for my paperwork to be finally accepted. And no there was no other paperwork to turn in. As for my financial aid, I filled my application in February .. and I am still waiting for it to...
