Went here for dinner with a party of 10. We ordered drinks and 2 bottles of wine. We were the only table in the place until about 8pm. We all ordered. Some folks had salad and some had soup and 1 had an appetizer and soup. All 10 ordered a dinner. I ordered the scallop special. ALL the food was served at the same time except for 1 salad which was served early. Not only was there no room in front of folks to put a bowl and a plate or 2....I ask....what do you choose to eat first while the other goes cold? We asked if a few plates could be kept warm in the kitchen and were told there was no room. Remember we were the only ones in the restaurant. They brought another table out and put all the food that didn't fit on our table on that one. Ridiculous. I must say most people were happy with the taste of the food. Remember I ordered the special? I received 6 small to medium scallops on a large plate with a little butter and oil and 1 slice of lemon. The worst presentation for a $25.00 special. I took a picture that I wish i could post here. So boring and unappetizing. Very poor service. Someone needs to...

We finally got into Fresh Chef for dinner tonight after the 3rd time of trying but unable to find a parking spot. Now we know why! The gorgeous bar was the first thing you noticed after checking in with the hostess. Very nice Bourbon selection so that was already a plus for us. The wait was about 15 minutes at prime dinner time on a Wednesday night which was much less than we expected. We waited by their “patio” area which definitely had a classy beach vibe going with robins egg blue paint and rich chocolate trim. The menu was the perfect mix of something for everyone. Salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, steaks, and so much more. Our server was Katie and she was pleasant and attentive. The service was something we have never seen…it was less than 5 minutes between ordering and being served at our table. Normally that is not a good thing…that usually means it’s sitting around in the kitchen pre-cooked ready to be plated but our dinners were hot, fresh, and delicious! Hickory has needed a dining experience like this for a very long time. We will definitely be returning!...

First and last time here. Starting off you walk in and there's no one to greet you, you have to stand there until someone decides to come help you. Service was minimal at best with it taking 10 minutes just to get drinks. We started with the duo dip which literally took 2 minutes to come out quicker than the drinks which tells me nothing is fresh which didn't make it any surprise that the chips were stale and over salted. I ordered the blacked chicken pasta and the pictures you see are when I finished eating this was the most bland and unappetizing pasta dish I've eaten at any restaurant in hickory. My partner got a blackened chicken wrap and he said his was very flavorless also. Not once did the waitress ask us how the food was or if we needed anything else she served the food waited 20 minutes and brought us a check. If I was a server and seen someone push their plate away still filled with pasta I would've asked if something was wrong with it. Save your money and literally go to any other restaurant in the area. Social house has good pasta and so does...

Table of 4 with minimal special requests. We were mislead by waitress about the duo dip and expected Queso only to receive cold pimento cheese. My dad ordered the Mahi Sandwich and said it was nearly inedible. My mom and her friend enjoyed their meals though my dad and I were extremely disappointed. My Alfredo was the most bland pasta I have ever had. (I get Alfredo all the time). Our waitress was very clearly impaired with what we believed to be benzos or weed. She did the bare minimum and was obviously feeling foggy. We won’t be back as the check was $80 before tip the food is terribly overpriced for the quality. My dad made the mistake of not looking at the check but we were told the Duo Dip would be taken off and two of us got water, one Mr. Pibb and 1 beer. We all ordered $10-$15 meals and there is no chance it equaled $80. Super disappointed and this isn’t the first time my experience was poor. Don’t recommend this place.

A rainy day this week, my friend recommended eating at Fresh Chef for lunch. We have never been to this location so we were eager to try. Phenomenal! I’d highly recommend. The primary parking is in the back where the main entrance is located. I loved the patio space but we were seated in the bar area. It was a laid back, quiet place. The atmosphere was comfortable and contemporary. The server was friendly and professional. I had the lunch special angus cheeseburger with fries. My friend had the Hawaiian chicken wrap. Superb! Overall, the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The staff friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and to order. Prices very competitive compared to other burger joints. I will be back!
