King of Karaoke — Attraction in Highland Park

I booked the VIP room ($100 per hour, private Bathroom) from 10pm to 2am for my 34th and everyone had fun. There is a 20% additional charge and I think that is for the cleaning fee and stuff. Some of my guests even said they plan to do their birthday there also. We used YouTube and the music was quick to download. The speakers were perfect and so was the Mics. If you live close by you can go see it beforehand and they'll let you see the room you want as long as it's not being used. Do yourself a favor and ignore the negative comments. I booked the VIP room for my daughter’s 16th Birthday. I was able to get this room within 2 wks notice. This is the largest room. It has its own bathroom, fits approx 17 people. Very clean. Great sound system, no issue finding music. We used pop, rap, R&B, & country music. Fees are based on an hourly rate, plus a mandatory 20% gratuity amount (which is posted at the front desk), even if you don't need the staff for anything. BUT the staff is very responsive, accommodating, and helpful when requested. Use your 20% (wink, wink!) You are able to buy food there (individual meals only), as well as bring your own food and drink. We bought our own. Very expensive and not English friendly. If it weren’t $55/hr (for a small room) + a mandatory 20% service fee (even though we didn’t order food or use any other services) and the whole karaoke system weren’t in Chinese, I would’ve enjoyed my time more. The song selection is also very limited, so don’t be surprised if your go-to karaoke songs are not there. Not to mention if they are there, sometimes it takes time to download since it hasn’t been played in a while. For older songs like Mamamia by ABBA or Elton John songs, the lyrics were delayed and the original vocals were still there, which defeated the purpose of karaoke.
