FYI it costs $9 to get into the area if you want to visit Harbour Town itself, explore the shops, dine at the restaurants, walk the beautiful preserves, or visit the iconic Salty Dog Cafe, which is a huge part of the dock on the lower east side of the area. Even if you have a tee time at the famous Harbour Town Golf Links, you still need to enter Sea Pines Community and pay the fee - something to keep in mind if you're planning a golf trip or just want to explore. Had we known, we would've saved some time and combined our exploration with our tee time, rather than doing it all in one day. You can generally explore Harbour Town and the surrounding Sea Pines area within 2-5 hours, depending on what you want to do, whether it's shopping at the Harbour Town Lighthouse Shops, grabbing a bite at the Oyster Reef or the Quarterdeck, taking photos of the iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse, or just strolling around to soak in the vibe. Notable spots to check out include the Harbour Town Lighthouse, which offers great views of the marina and beyond, and the Calibogue Sound. The crazy crab is a must-visit for iconic coastal dining. Also, the Harbour Town Marina is perfect for watching boats and enjoying the waterfront scenery. If you're into golf, the Harbour Town Golf Links is a legendary course designed by Pete Dye, famous for hosting the RBC Heritage tournament. Overall worth the visit if your in town!

Harbour Town Pier is a popular tourist destination in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It is located in the Harbour Town community, which is known for its upscale shops and restaurants. The pier itself is a short walk from the main shopping area and offers stunning views of the marina and the Atlantic Ocean. The pier is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are few benches along the pier, and some say, you can often see dolphins swimming in the water, but I never witnessed. There are also several charter companies that offer fishing, sightseeing, and dinner cruises from the pier. If you are looking for a more active experience, you can walk or bike the pier. There are also several places to stop along the way, such as the Harbour Town Lighthouse and the Harbour Town Yacht Club. Overall, Harbour Town Pier is a great place to visit if you are looking for a scenic and relaxing spot in Hilton Head. It is also a good place to find something to eat or do, as there are several restaurants and shops nearby. It can be crowded, especially during peak season. Parking can be difficult to find, especially during peak season. Also pricey foods.

Paying attention to the guard at Lighthouse Rd entrance (to Sea Pines), this area required parking admission ($9/day) at the gate. Since it was really a living town, tourists might not be easy to find any parking space, especially during weekends or holidays. In general, it was a typical tourists' site, with shopping mall and restaurant (e.g. Crazy Crab). Only thing recall to be unique was the ice cream bar next the Harborside. There was construction at the beach, nothing special to see at the time. Planned for sunset shots, but gave up due to complicate environment (- it would be okay if one decided to have dinner at the harbor).
