Harbour Town General Store — Attraction in Hilton Head Island

This is exactly what it says it is - a "general store". Its an outlier. It does not fit in to the Harbor Town theme. However, I am glad they have such a store. The personnel just need to be more appreciative of their patrons! The personnel are not personable or friendly -even if you try to have a conversation. Maybe they just don't understand English enough or their just not interested. So if you need a quick snack, drink or memorabilia then this is the store you need. Just don't bother talking to anyone who works there. Harbor Town management should really find new owners who will compliment the culture...

Owner is a nasty jerk. My daughters were looking at the toys and were playing with them and the older middle eastern owner came over and told us they couldn’t play with the toys and TOOK HER TOY that we were going to buy and wouldn’t let me have it back. Absolutely ridiculous that they have a shop with toys in it and don’t expect children to touch them or play with them AND that they expect to have paying customers when they treat people this way. Owner/manager seems like a psycho…my son was going to pick out a fidget toy and was trying one out that wasn’t in a package. The guy came out from behind counter and was staring us down. Creepy vibes. Went to look at toys and there were scribbled signs all over saying ‘don’t touch’ so we left.
