Please read in its entirety. So first of all, it's a very pretty course situated amongst trees, so during the day it keeps the heat off.... It is dog friendly, so we brought our two dogs to play....
Both of our dogs have been on miniature golf courses before. One is a retriever, and one is a Cavalier... The worst the retriever has ever acted is just getting excited to see the ball go down the fairway and wants to pick it up.... and that is when she was a puppy..
While waiting in the office well, my husband went to the bathroom. I sat with my dogs... there was a middle aged couple working there, a man and a woman... The man kept barking at my dogs. First the Cavalier, he kept barking, and then when it barked, he thought it was funnier and kept barking..... The woman had enough common sense to tell the guy to stop, but he wouldn't.... I told him my retriever gets a bit shy and barking at her might stress her out..... He just continued to bark at her making different bark. Noises and laughing, and then he would growl, then bark and growl. I finally said you are making her stressed out, and he still continued....
Hubby came out of bathroom. We went out to the Golf course figuring. Once we got out there, things would be okay, but he had her so wound up and stress that she wanted to run all over so we ended up putting them in the car and each one of us played separately, which is not what we had intended to do..
Yes, people can say that's why you don't have dogs in these kinds of places, but that was not really the problem. I am not sure why the guy working there kept trying to bother my dog. Even after I told him to stop and it would stress her out he continued..
As I said before, this was not the first time they were on a mini golf course so we knew we could do it, otherwise we would have never attempted this. We're very respectful of the situation and only take our dogs where they are allowed...
If you continue to allow dogs on the course, please make sure the people working at your facility do not harass the dogs to the point of making them...
Read moreMy sister and brother-in-law are in town for a visit and we felt like a round of miniature golf. I've always admired the look of Legendary Golf from the highway with its beautiful water feature and lush landscaping, so that's where we headed. Entering the office we were greeted by a friendly young man who checked us in and explained the difference between their professional and championship courses (the championship is harder). The clubs were neatly organized by size beside the brightly colored golf balls. So, we made our choices and then we were off to golf. Unlike many miniature golf places, this one wasn't heavily themed. There were no pirates or windmills in sight. (There were, however, a couple pink flamingos in Santa hats and some lawn-ornament style reindeer wrapped in white Christmas lights. This was the holiday season, after all.) The professional course was plenty challenging for us, with many of the holes featuring tiny ponds or sand traps. But it was fun, not frustrating, and we all had a great time. In fact, when the game was over my sister said that it was the best time she's ever had miniature golfing. Of course, she won. But she did go on to mention the beautiful facilities and friendly staff contributing to her positive experience. Legendary Golf is simply a great, family-friendly place to enjoy some quality time with...
Read moreFrom our survey of HHI miniature golf courses this seemed to be the best on the island. I can’t confirm or refute that, but I can say that it’s a decent course. I have played on nicer and more difficult courses, however.
My wife and I played the 2 courses back to back. It was an enjoyable time. I do recommend doing that as it was like $4 additional to play the second course.
My wife and I both really liked the atmosphere here. It is clearly a Christian-owned property as every hole has either a Bible verse or a Christian thought leader quotation posted at the tee box. While I realize this may not be everybody’s cup of tea, for my wife and I it is a clear positive feature.
We played in September, so it was off peak season. There was nothing I could see in the way of hotdogs or popcorn or anything like that, but I’m not sure what they do during peak season. So you may not want to plan on a lunch here unless you bring your own food. Regardless, there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
They did warn us there was a small alligator in one of the water hazards, but we never did see it.
All in all, this is a family-friendly, well run miniature golf complex. He’s a great way to spend a couple hours and it was fun for all. We would come back here again if we were looking for some miniature golf...
