I understand staffing problems and delays with covid19, but I called in a corporate order 4 days in advance for 20 assorted boxes. They said “sure no problem. We can do that.” I asked them if I need to pay in advance or leave deposit. They said “No, just come by and pick them up” I was skeptical it was that easy so I checked in again a couple days later. They said “Yup we got you”. They were closed on Sunday so I could not check back again day in advance.

Got up early before work Monday. When I arrived there were a half dozen people clearly waiting a long time standing around outside store.

No staff member was there taking orders when I arrived. Waited at least 20 minutes before a single staff member even presented at the window? It was clear they were busy but avoiding the front window from new orders.

Finally, when a staff member walked up from the back, she immediately took two fresh orders right in front of me standing there? I quickly interupted her before she dashed to the back of the store.

“Excuse me I called in an order for 20 boxes 4 days ago” and gave her my name. She just stared at me and said “Ummm... let me talk to manager?” I watched her walk back inside and explain something. Manager just shook her head. She came back to window and said, “no one called in an order that size?” When I explained again and gave her my name she walked back to manager with exactly the same response and head shake again? She returned again and said “we tried to call you and there was no answer?” Which was a lie because I showed her on my phone that no one had called me from a 843 area code anytime in the last month? She said ,” ummm...if you want your order you will have to wait 2 hours?!”

I said, “ well no! Thats the reason I preordered?! I have to go to work!” They gave me no apology...could care less...

They might be OK for a single order on the spot but I will never rely on this shop again for a corporate or large order.

I’ll go to Dunkin or Panera...

Had a small issue when when first arrived. They were having some issues with the machine that drops the batter into the deep fryer. We were told they didn't know how long it would take to fix the issue so they didn't want to place any more orders. They offered us free drinks while we waited and my boyfriend got an iced coffee. We went outside for about 15 minutes and sat on the rocking chairs (we weren't in a rush) and waited for the machine to be back in working order.

When we finally got our orders placed, we got our order out in only a minute or two (I was surprised how fast it was). We got two blueberry with raspberry drizzle and one glaze. They were super fresh, hot and dripping with icing! Despite the small mishap with the machine, the donuts were amazing. They were yellow cake donuts. They were fluffy, moist and sweet. Some of the best donuts I've had.

One thing I will say is these donuts are made to order and completely customizable. You pick your toppings (unless you decide to go with one of there flavors they have posted, for those of us who have trouble making decisions). I'd recommend only coming here if you aren't in a rush. If there's a line (which I promise you there will be because these donuts are delicious) there will be people who can't make up there mind's so be prepared to wait. Don't worry the donuts are worth it. Remember patience...

The donuts are great. Love them. Last year I had to wait 90 minutes for donuts after my order. It was busy, I didn’t blame them. This year I thought I’ll order online so I won’t have to wait as long. I ordered the donuts through the app. They said it would be ready in :30. showed up :45 later to pick them up. They hadn’t even started them. This wouldn’t bother mean much but when I asked them about it, they had five orders ahead of me that were all time stamped after my order. When I asked them about it they said it was because the other online orders had showed up in person before me. But the whole point of ordering online for pick up is so you don’t have to come in person and wait for 90 minutes. Then the people worked there treated me less than human just for me asking them to honor making the donuts in the order they received them. I understand that they are not well staffed but you shouldn’t be treated poorly for placing an online order and expecting your order to be honored in the order of the time they are placed. The one person making my donuts wouldn’t even call out my name when they completed my order. She just tossed them on the counter. Basically all this is to say that ordering online ahead of time is worthless. There were 10 people all around me who orders online who all had to wait for another hour. One had to wait so long that they asked...

We first discovered Duck Donuts a couple of years ago during a family vacation in North Carolina. We spent sometime in the Outer Banks area and experienced our first Duck Donuts. We were excited to discover Hilton Head Island has a Duck Donuts, so we planned a couple of trips to this store during our family vacation. We love that the donuts are made to order and are served up hot and fresh and you customize the topping added to your donut order. While they only offer a standard cake donut as the base of the order, there are a multitude of icing glazes and toppings which can be added to your donut. It's interesting to watch your donut be fried, glazed, and topped right before your eyes (if you chose to watch). There is nothing like eating your customized donut right out of the fryer, hot and fresh! Of course, the store also boxes up your donuts for carry-out if you wish to grab them an go. I ordered a cake donut with lemon frosting glaze, Oreo cookie crumbles, and a raspberry drizzle. Supper delicious and I almost guarantee you will want to lick the excess frosting from the box which they are packaged into.

If you want custom old-fashioned style donuts with lots of accoutrements, this is your place. While fairly pricy, they give you a unique experience in donut delight. We got 3 dozen for our huge family and had to cut them into fourths so everyone could try all the different types. When you walk in, grab a card and a marker and figure out what you want. Start out with their suggestions and you won't go wrong. When you order is when your donut is cooked, so it's super fresh and hot. There's something to be said about the simpleness of a glazed donut, but all of them were really quite well done. They all melt in your mouth and everyone enjoyed them. The only negative besides cost is the coffee. If you just want a cup of joe, grab theirs. If you want espresso, be prepared to wait and don't expect much flavor. The sugar level is lower than some other shops, but that's good when you have a sugary donut to go with it. The coffee flavor itself was a bit muted. Otherwise this place is a great experience and you should try it out!

My senior grandma and myself waited 30 mins for a glazed, cinnamon, and 1 speciality donut. Sat there and watched them make 8 dozen online orders before us. Not only is this a waste of time for customers, it puts your employees in an awful situation. You need to have the standard dozen boxes pre-made and ready to hand out by the time you hit peak hours. Not sure how this business manages to keep customers as it refuses to follow basic demand patterns and penalizes families and seniors who come as walk-ins. I’m sure the response will be something like “we want them to be made fresh,” but your donuts that “keep for 5 days” can handle sitting in a closed box for a few minutes before selling… it’s how actual good donut shops run. Spare your customers AND your employees and implement a demand-based stock. Picture below is yet another reason why you shouldn’t be frosting hot donuts… your frosting fell right off. What a mess!!
