Bullies sits across the road from Stacks. I'm not 100 on this but it seems like it is fairly new or under new management. The inside is quaint with pictures of French bulldogs everywhere. There is seeing inside for roughly 20-25 people. There is outside seating, as well, but not covered. For $12.95 I got a regular pulled pork sandwich with smoked gouda mac& cheese and jalapeno cornbread, plus a fountain drink. The sandwich had their Carolina style slaw on top. You get a choice from 5 sauces. The pulled pork was fine. Nothing really special about it. I would definitely forego the slaw on top, next time. The mac and cheese was creamy and had a great texture, but I am just not a fan of the smoked Gouda. The jalapeno cornbread was moist and delicious. I almost got another piece on the way out. If you are craving some barbecue and are in the area, you should definitely give it a try.

This came highly recommended from the locals as a great place for South Carolina style bbq...and it did not disappoint! This is a no frills, all about the barbecue kind of place. I ordered the half rack of ribs which came with fries, slaw and cornbread and my partner ordered the pulled pork sandwich with collards and carolina slaw. The food itself was very good. The ribs were a tad bit salty and needed a bit more smoke for me, however my partner said they were perfectly done for him. We both thought the pulled pork was done quite well. As for the sides, the collards and the corn bread stood out for both of us. Of the sauces we tried, my favourite in order was mustard vinegar based, spicy tomato based, carlina style vinegar and the mild. All of them were good however. I recommend trying this place if you're in the area.

Just damn good BBQ. I have been eating this BBQ since they first opened and every year since when I returned for golf trips. Now that I move to HHI and only a 10 minute walk, I will have plenty of Bullies. Chicken, pulled pork, or ribs, it's all great. Several sauces are available and plenty of gluten-free sides. If you are celiac or gluten-free, then you know fries are a treat, so order a box rather than a side order. The baked potato salad is outstanding. I have heard and read that Bullies is the best BBQ on the Island. Not sure why limiting to the Island, because this statement can extend much further. Give it a try, guaranteed not to be questioning the decision after a few bites. Handsome Sammy's favorite is chicken and a close second is the pulled pork.

Absolutely delicious!! We had one of just about everything with our family of 6! I can’t even name them all but we tried near the whole menu and I had happy kids and husbands all around. My grandson proudly pronounced that the ribs were the best he’s ever had in his life (all seven years) as he danced around the dining area in literal joy. My adult son that is dry as toast said absolutely not one word the entire meal (which means it was the best he ever had too) But forget the food. Which was excellent when I tell you we were doted on the entire meal all the way through the waitress Liz offering to stand on a chair to take a photo of our family (which she did in landscape orientation (total pro lol). We were heartily welcomed and guided through the menu from the first step in the door and tended to by the entire staff. It was a total experience! Thank you Bullies! Full stomachs and a great time! PS DO NOT walk out of that building without getting a blueberry lemon cookie! DO NOT DO IT! (We got ours complimentary since my grandson put on the whole show about the ribs but it was also genius because we bought a dozen before we left so apparently they’re also marketing gurus on top of...

I’m from Eastern Kentucky, BBQ is kind of one of our things. Anytime we travel, either down South or in Texas, we try to hit up local BBQ joints. After seeing ratings for Bullies, we were very excited to try it but were very disappointed with our meal. We got the pulled pork and brisket. While the pulled pork wasn’t bad, it wasn’t smoked, most likely made in a crock pot. No smoked or crusted pieces like you expect on some pulled pork. I only have negative things to say about the brisket. Brisket was extremely thinly sliced, tasted like hamburger (according to my wife) or Arby’s Roast Beef. Sides were pretty good (coleslaw, french fries), mac & cheese was excellent. The jalapeño cornbread tasted like grandma’s perfume and was very dry. If you have no frame of reference, this will pass as adequate BBQ. If you know any better, you will know that this is a glorified imitation of southern BBQ. Service was average, food came out quick. However I feel as though I was getting on the cash register attendants nerves by simply ordering my food. The prices are also excessive for the...

Bullies has easily been my favorite restaurant on the ENTIRE island for all the years we’ve been coming here to vacation. When my husband and I walked in yesterday we knew immediately that it didn’t feel or look the same. I asked the woman that took our order if the place had been sold and she said the employees had taken over the business. I ordered a family dinner so that other family could taste why I love them so much. My hunch of things not being the same were spot on. The ribs had absolutely no rub on them and they were chewy. Besides being rubbery, they were dry as there wasn’t even BBQ sauce on them. We threw away more than half the rack. The cornbread was not fresh and was very dry. To say I was disappointed in the taste is an understatement. I am not one to write reviews but I am hoping the employees see this and step up their game. I told my husband I think that was the last time we will ever eat at Bullie’s and it made me very sad. I wish the original owner a happy and relaxing retirement but it appears that no one can replicate his...
