Headed over to Hingham Shipyard on a warm March day after going for a walk on Nantasket Beach. The Shipyard is only minutes from the beach and my wife and I had never been there before. I was a little disappointed. It was a nice attempt to revitalize an area that fell into hard times years ago when the shipyard closed. I was initially impressed when we drove into the main entrance and viewed the shops. I thought Wow! Not bad! But as we continued further down the main road past Wahlburgers, there was a huge open area to the right, a vast empty space which I feel could have been utilized to conform more with the shops that already exsist. There were a number of residential buldings in the Shipyard property as well. But given the contrast between the residential areas and the huge vacant space that's undeveloped, I was really disappointed in the Hingham Shipyard and what it has to offer. We stopped in at Wahlburgers for lunch while we were there. I really enjoyed the fried pickles for an appetizer (and I mean really fried!) They were just as good if not better than the ones I've had down south! I really enjoyed the "original " burger. I eliminated the onions lettuce, and tomatoes that came with the burger and substituted carmelized onions and mushrooms instead. The burgers come with a special sauce as well, but as a first timer, i ordered the sauce on the side. Glad I did (sauce was ok but i enjoyed my burger without it. My wife ordered the mac and cheese with chicken. She enjoys trying mac and cheese dishes at different restaurants and she thought this particular dish had a little bit of a smokey taste to it. The prices were fair, the atmosphere wasn't what I had envisioned. I'm glad we had the opportunity to check out the Hingham Shipyard though,It's been over 50 years since I've been by there. But if you're in the Hingham area, be sure to check out the historical portion of the town...so many wonderfully preserved homes from the...

Also, free parking wasn't free as promised and we were ticketed. Or it is a scam by the town parking officials. We will be...
