We just finished dinner at Trident, everything as always, was delicious! We ordered the lobster roll and split the salmon with a side salad and grilled veggies, the lobster roll was great! Lots of lobster meat like over pouring with meat and the grilled brioche was so good. The salmon was crispy on the outside and soo flavorful, the veggies and salad were both awesome!!! For dessert (because at this point we couldn’t stop) we had the most delicious Strawberry Short Cake! Maddie the bartender who was also our waitress was awesome! Everything was great EXCEPT for the creepy manager, Todd, who kept walking by our table and staring at us 🙈 at first I thought he was just a creepy guest at but then realized he worked there. I have a thick skin creepy guests i can ignore, and i really actually love awkward people i find them funny but i draw the line at rude. After about the 10th time walking past our table and not saying a single word to us he stopped at our table with more water, which i at first thought was nice that he was bringing us our own pitcher, and i remember thinking oh he is going to refill our glasses which would have been um... the normal thing to do, but NO not Todd! Todd literally slammed the water down on our table and yelled at us for placing our water glasses on the bar next to us, our glasses were on the bar the entire meal because of how much food we ordered they didn’t fit at the table!!! ummm awkward! And then he waited for us to remove the glasses from the bar and just turned and walked away! He was beyond rude!!! We were going to stay for one more glass of wine after dinner but left because this manager, yes this person was the manager!!! Was beyond rude and made us feel so uncomfortable!!!! So all in all the takeaways Food - 10 Service - 10 Ambiance - 10 Todd - 🤦🏻‍♀️

My wife has a recent shellfish [shrimp, lobster, crab] allergy, but we still like our seafood... it is amazing how many dishes at every restaurant serve shrimp. For a Sunday night [Father's Day], it was very empty. We felt bad for the employees tonight. Our server was fantastic, and not because there were few customers, we could tell that she took our table allergy Very seriously, especially where cross-conyamination was a risk! Thank you for your concern and efforts!! Our starter oysters were delicious! Yum! The meals were varied and also flavorful and well portioned! The salads were good, but the side Caesar was kind of watery. Today, I happened to speak with someone who ate here Friday night, and he said the "place was hopping with people and energy" - our luck was a very quiet evening, but the food and service will bring us back! As we left the Hingham Shipyard, we were treated to a beautiful sunset!

WOW what a fantastic restaurant! This was our first dinner at Trident Galley in Hingham. Jay the Manager welcomed us and made us feel welcome and comfortable immediately. There's also a relaxed vibe in the dining room. First impression: 5 out of 5! The meal? I had the Portuguese stew that consisted of a plethora of seafood and lots of it! Shrimp, scallops, muscles, clams and more in a delicious tomato broth that was just perfect. My guests ordered the Catch of the Day which was haddock. Once they started eating it, they stopped talking and enthusiastically ate every incredible morsel. Yes, it was THAT delicious ! High 5's for food, ambiance, service, price and presentation! This is definitely going to be one of our favorite restaurants and another winner by Chef/owner Brian Houlihan. Amazing!!!

I had really high hopes as this is one of the few raw bars in this area and I had a craving for oysters. I ordered oysters, the buffalo cauliflower, pork belly, clam chowder, and the trout deviled eggs to split with a friend. The service was friendly and the location was nice however the food is bland and well...not good. Nothing didnt seem fresh but it was all something I could have whipped up at home. The buffalo cauliflower was literally pan fried cauliflower with franks hot sauce on it. The trout deviled eggs were so bland and I couldnt even taste the trout...if there was trout. The worst part of the meal was the clam chowder that tasted like NOTHING and there were no clams. Like honestly they somehow managed to make chowder taste like a bowl of hot water. The pork belly was the only redeeming quality of the whole meal but the "lo mein" beneath it was a joke. Also they accidentally sent our oysters to another table so we didnt get our oysters until after we had eaten the rest of the meal which was whatever but usually you get those first. Unfortunately I would not go back unless it was only for the dollar oysters before six and cocktails as the spicy marg and the service is the only reason I am giving 2 starts...

I do not write many 1-star reviews, but this one is well deserved. I went here for lunch with a companion today. The atmosphere is horrid. Extremely loud drunks at the bar. Hard seating. Bad acoustics. The service was poor. I had no idea who my server actually was. I saw multiple people serving the same tables around us. Our food order was taken by one person and dropped off unceremoniously by another. And the place was not crowded. I ordered seared scallops which came to me as blackened hockey pucks, decoratively arranged on a mush that had once been comprised of eggplant, onion and bell pepper. It was smothered in mediocre olive oil. I was not offered bread to dip in the excess olive olive, despite the fact that the table was set with bread plates. When the person who took our order asked us our opinion, I told her to tell the cook he did not know how to cook scallops. I ate a fraction of my plate. Her response was to ask if I wanted anything else. I thought, Why would a sane person want anything else from that kitchen? The multiple servers ignored us after we had finished our meal. When we paid our check, my card and receipt were delivered with cheesy attitude. My companion said his meal was equally unimpressive....
