I came in to try mattresses I read about online. Someone immediately began following me around, making it tough for me to enjoy and feel and think my own thoughts (I wouldn’t ever buy from such a salesperson. That aggressive smothering makes me decide immediately that I won’t be making a purchase today, even if I really want something).

The woman kept taking a pillow and following me around to the each new mattress with the pillow. I just wanted personal space. I wanted her to leave me alone or to at least ASK rather than ASSUME I wanted a pillow brought from one to the other.

On one bed, where I was about to say “enough, please leave me alone and give me space,” she hurried to grab the this heavy, purple pillow from the last bed and bring it to the one I just layed on. She set it down at the base by my feet and I thought that was it, but she then began pushing it to the to top of the bed beside my body (I was laying down). She pushed it into my hip and kept pushing. It was bizarre (the bed was a queen. There was zero reason she would need to touch my body), but also I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome and that very hip was dislocated two years ago. I’ve spent two years rehabing it. I was wearing tape and braces which she could see, on my knees and shoulder, and this moment was terrifying, and it injured me,

I had zero reason to fear being pressed against while bed hunting, but she pressed this weighty pillow up the bed right into my hip and kept pushing it up past the least stable joint in my body.

As I do when I’m anxious, I froze. I first assumed that, like most people, once she realized she was pushing the pillow into my body she would apologize and move. She didn’t. Then I figured if I got up or moved I might make it worse. I waited for her to push past my hip to the top of the bed and remove her body from the bed, but I barely slept last night from the pain. My hip is now subluxing, and it’s been stable for months.

I shouldn’t have to risk dislocating a hip because salespeople don’t understand personal space. I promise to never buy a Matress from you.

I’m terrified of the journey your tiny act of ignoring and respecting a persons boundaries has cost me. I pray this hip recovers super quickly, but I’m aware it could be months of rehab, and I had already torn the labrum, so you may have made it worse.

When I realized I had mistakenly chosen the highest bed height (about 30 inches), which made it hard for me to get in and out, Kenny once again went above and beyond. He immediately arranged to have a team come back and adjust it to a more comfortable level.

She listened to all my needs and showed me many mattresses that she felt would be good for me . After going back many times and trying them out I finally picked one out !
