I will start by saying I did attempt to contact the owner twice to allow them to make the situation right before deciding to write a review.
We stayed at Bluestone Lodge with another family over spring break. There was a city wide water outage while we stayed, however all of the businesses in town still had water.
We were without water most of the day and through the night 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. We had 4 small children, including an infant. We were unable to shower, wash our hands, flush toilets, wash any dishes/bottles, or cook. We were told if we had an “emergency” to use the hot tub water to refill the toilets to flush it. My husband and I stayed upstairs, which meant we had to climb two flights of stairs with hot tub water to refill our toilet. Small children do not understand the concept of having no water. Every bit of bottled water we brought with us we used. It was actually not a relaxing vacation at all. We were “compensated” for the water outage by a total that equaled less than the cost of one night in this cabin, even though 2 out of 3 days were essentially ruined. This was only after expressing continual concern.
The cabin itself was beautiful. Cleanliness was average, but not pristine by any means. There was stuff in the dryer, a dishwasher full of dishes, and other small details missed when we arrived. Kitchen utensils and supplies were very basic.
We do understand this was an issue that was out of their control. However, we paid a lot of money to stay in this cabin and give our children a fun-filled spring break which completely...
Read moreMy husband and I go to Broken Bow every year for our anniversary and have stayed the last 5 years in Heartpine Hollow Cabins. The first 3 years we stayed in Blue Magnolia because it was just so beautiful and cozy. Last year we chose the Sugar Magnolia and we loved it as well (except the bed was too firm for us) but this year we stayed in the new Dream View Cabin and I think it may be our favorite so far. The views from this cabin are incredible! The cabin is beautiful and cozy and we just felt right at home. The town has grown so much since we started visiting and a lot of the cabins sit nearly on top of each other. We love Heartpine Hollow Cabins because they always have a great location, still have some seclusion and they are always beautiful and clean. I have a feeling we will be returning to Dream View...
Read moreMs. Julie and the Heartpine Hollow Cabins property management crew is absolutely amazing! We stayed the week of June 24-28, when Hochatown and the surrounding areas experienced a fast moving storm that caused a lot of damage and for the power to be out for an extended amount of time. Ms. Julie, although dealing with a whole tree on a roof on one of the other properties, made sure to get us moved to another cabin that the power had already been restored. Both cabins were beautiful, well equipped, and exactly as described in their listing. Check in and check out was a breeze, we ordered wood for the campfire and it was there waiting for us upon arrival, and there was always an open line of communication with Ms. Julie.
We can't wait to return to Hochatown and looking forward to renting...
