My husband and I booked the cabin for my 40th birthday. We invited some close family and friends to celebrate me turning 40 with an 80’s theme. We loved how much space we had to spread out in the cabin.
We enjoyed how close it was to nearby activities, such as the Hochatown Maze that we visited. We also enjoyed going hiking at Beaver’s Bend State Park, which was only 15 minutes away.
The parking was great as it was easy to get in and out of and there was tons of room for cars without blocking each other in.
The kitchen island was the perfect size to make a charcuterie board, as well as put all the different types of foods we were offering. I brought my own board and goodies from home, but Pam did recommend a local business to help with this if needed. We all enjoyed the shuffleboard and foosball tables.
There were three kids on the trip, and they enjoyed going outside playing on the playground. One evening, we used the fire pit to roast marshmallows. We stayed the weekend of January 17-20, and it was very cold that weekend, so we didn’t use the outdoor swing tables. We would love to go back in the future to enjoy the cabin either in the spring or fall.
Some things I appreciated was how many different kitchen cooking/baking/ gadget items were in the cabinets. The cabinets were labeled too, which was so helpful. One of the nice touches was the medicinal teas that were offered on a complementary tray of snacks. We used the waffle bar a few times. Some guests enjoyed the sauna and having TVs in the bedrooms. The room with twin beds has no window or natural light, and my 2 guests there said they got the best sleep being in the complete dark.
We felt at home here, cuddling with the blankets provided on the couch and chatting or playing board games. I even did quite a few loads of laundry so I wouldn’t have dirty clothes going home. We brought our own detergent as we prefer no fragrance.
We had 11 people in the cabin total. I would say that I think the ideal number for everyone to be comfortable with the bathroom situation would be between 6 to 8. This is because the guests in the bunkbeds that are in the upstairs living room don’t have easy access to a nearby bathroom in the middle of the night. They would have to go into one of the bedrooms upstairs to go to the Jack and Jen bathroom, or go all the way down the stairs and across the living room and kitchen to get to the downstairs bathroom. If you’re in a close knit, family or group of friends, this is fine. However, my guests that were staying in the twin bedroom and upstairs living room were not part of my immediate family.
I love how the kitchen had a little screen that said Happy 40th Birthday to me.
Pam recommended some local vendors that helped me with my birthday, such as The 3 Cupcateers and Tina’s Party Decor. Overall, it was a very magical and fun-filled experience.
I highly recommend it! We will...
Read moreWe took our girl Scout troop and we absolutely loved it! So many activities inside and outside the cabin. And so many things to do in the area that were within an easy 10-15 mins. We went hiking, zip lining, ate at a restaurant on the river, made s’mores at the fire pit at the cabin, and so much more. At the cabin, the girls didn’t want to go to sleep because there was shuffle board, food all, hot tub and card/board games. The cabin is on a creek and it was so peaceful to sit next to the creek and hear the water running. The girls went walking up and down the creek in their rain boots and enjoyed the picnic table with swings. For the moms who went with the troop we, we enjoyed the steam room, gathering spaces to talk, and the spacious kitchen with lots of counter space. Will definitely return with my whole family. The cabin is well appointed and loved the open floor plan so that we can still be all together. I can see 2-3 families coming together too at this cabin. The natural surroundings is beautiful and I felt like this was more than a...

The kitchen was well-stocked with gadgets and labeled cabinets, making it easy to prepare all our food. The shuffleboard and foosball tables were a big hit, and the kids enjoyed playing outside on the playground. We even roasted marshmallows by the fire pit one night.
It was pretty cold that weekend, so we didn’t use the outdoor swing tables, but we’ll definitely come back when it’s warmer. The sauna and TVs in the rooms were nice extras, and the twin room with no windows made for some great sleep.
We had 11 people, which worked fine, but I’d recommend 6-8 for better bathroom convenience, especially with the bunk beds being a bit far from the bathroom.
Overall, it was a great weekend, and we’ll definitely be back....
