The Tasting Room — Restaurant in Hochatown

Went into the speakeasy and gift shop this afternoon. The elderly lady behind the bar was incredibly rude, unwelcoming, and did not seem interested in serving or helping guests at all. I told her I was interested in buying a bottle, but would have liked a small taster first before sampling. She gave me a blind tasting, did not tell me which bourbon I was tasting, didn't tell me at all about the characteristics of each bourbon. I had picked up some things in the gift shop, but put them back. I decided not to buy a bottle and promptly left. Wouldn't return or recommend. The other guests I spoke with at the bar commented on her unfriendly demeanor as well....

The 1st night this place was 5 stars, the drinks were properly made and looked outstanding.

We enjoyed it so much we returned two days later and it was a complete 180. The drinks shown on the photo we attempted to order again and the Marshmellow was left off and it only tasted of booze not the balanced drink from the prior visit. The staff was different and if showed, the bartenders were rude when the drink was questioned why it was lacking components. For that visit it deserved a 1 star.

For the sake of averaging those visits. It is worth a try just know you may have a spectacular time or you may not want to stay even...

This is always my favorite place to have fun in Hochatown! There is a beautiful bar inside with excellent craft cocktails and a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Outback they have a multi-level deck with comfortable seating and another bar. Yes! I said they have a bar outside on a deck with comfortable seating and it looks over the forest. I've met the owners and they are some friendly hard working folks! I look forward to seeing them again on my next visit. Try the tasting room you...
