Deceptive Pricing and Rude Service at Okie Girls Coffee Shop!!!
One of the Most Disappointing Ice Cream Experiences We’ve Ever Had
My family and our friends’ family stopped at this ice cream shop after a long day of hiking, hoping for a sweet treat. Instead, we left frustrated and feeling completely deceived.
When ordering, I asked the cashier how many scoops came with the waffle cone (listed at $3.00) and the dipped cone (listed at $2.50). She clearly told me the waffle cone included four scoops. So imagine my shock when my total for just two cones—a waffle and a dipped—came to $17.00 ($9.00 and $8.00 respectively).
When I questioned the total, the cashier—rather than showing any concern—snapped back that the listed prices were for empty cones only, and that ice cream cost an extra $2.00 per scoop. This crucial information was nowhere on the menu board, nor mentioned when I asked directly. That’s deceptive, plain and simple.
Instead of apologizing , she hid behind “policy” and blamed the manager saying he told them they couldn't change the pricing on the board. To which, I replied, I can understand if that is the only problem, but I had specifically asked what came with the cone and she said 4 scoops. Both employees acted as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers who had just been misled.
And even worse—the math still didn’t add up. My waffle cone with two scoops should have been $7.00, not $9.00. My son’s dipped cone with two scoops should have been $6.50, not $8.00.
Between the misleading pricing, poor communication, and rude customer service, this experience was unacceptable from start to finish.
BE WARNED: The prices posted on the menu are not the prices you’ll pay. What looks like a small-town ice cream shop is actually a lesson in how to lose customers through deception and disrespect. We will not...
Read moreTypically, we love this place, but I called to place a pick up order for a cabin gift (like I had done the week before) and was mocked and laughed at by several girls. They said only a manger could help me enter my card information over the phone. I asked when a good time would be to call back. Someone got on the phone that the first girl said could help me, but she was aggressive, laughed at me and said they have never delivered and the never will. I didn’t want delivery, so was I confused. I use OkieExpress to deliver. I did more listening with her than the talking (she definitely wasn’t not interested in hearing me, so I listened), so I then apologized and said there must be a misunderstanding (I didn’t want delivery). I just wanted to pay for my pick up order. She said I was the misunderstanding and the first girl thought I was rude. I was surprised because all I did was ask about when to call back and pay, but I apologized again. She repeated our conversation in the background and the girls laughed at me. I still am not sure what that was all about. I’m giving two stars, but I felt ridiculed...and I hate that I apologized for any misunderstanding because it just felt like...
Read moreI have 3 stars because the coffee usually is pretty good. However, we had one mishap with online ordering. Placed an order online to avoid the wait (they currently do not allow walk in only service at window which I cannot stand). I arrived, inquired what to do, the lady said wait for them to call our name. I waited and waited. My wife went to wait in line to find out they had our order sitting there for some time but I guess the employee delivering the orders in the pick up window was unaware. They tried to give us the melted, pathetic looking frappes that had been sitting there for who knows how long. My wife had then make us new ones. They claimed their online ordering system wasn't working right but they knew to make the drinks so that was probably a lie. Ordering online was a waste of time when it should have been very convenient. I also think they need to open up the store. There is no covid pandemic or mandate by tyrannical government for...
