This place is pure magic. My family was trying to get away for a weekend and chose the village, since I have a 10 month old, and wanted something new for him. I can't even begin to describe how fun it was. There was something to do at every turn. Included in the admission price are rides, exhibits (about Holland, the village, way of life in olden days, etc), shows, a petting zoo, and lots of samples at shops.
I absolutely loved that it was a mixed bag, for every age. You could bring children and have a great time, or come with adults and thoroughly enjoy yourself. They have a restaurant and bar, ice cream shop, fudge shop, little grocery store with Dutch items, cheese shop, and a HUGE souvenir shop. We were able to get an authentic pair of clogs for my baby, that he will be able to wear when he is a little older, with free inscribing, for such a reasonable price. The clogs come in every single size, from infant to adult.
The petting zoo had friendly goats and bunnies - wonderful for my baby's first time touching baby animals. You can purchase feed in a cone for the goats for 50 cents. There were also pigs, cows, lambs, llamas, and chickens.
One of my favorite things was the "gouden engel", a giant street organ. It played music every 15 to 20 minutes. They had a group of dancers perform to some of the music in traditional dress.
Don't miss cheese tasting and the fresh stroopwafel samples in the shop area of...

Drawn in by the irresistible scent of freshly baked waffles, I found myself at this charming spot, where a variety of ice cream flavors awaited. Opting for a classic chocolate waffle cone, I was instantly impressed by the quality. The waffle cone, still warm and golden-brown, exuded a heavenly aroma of caramelized sugar and buttery richness. Its crisp exterior provided the perfect contrast to the smooth, creamy chocolate ice cream, which had a deep, indulgent cocoa flavor that was nothing short of luxurious. The combination of the warm, freshly baked waffle and the cold, rich ice cream created a delightful harmony of temperatures and textures. Each bite was a blend of satisfying crunch and melt-in-your-mouth sensation, making the experience truly memorable.
