For snow birds and locals alike, there are many choices in South Florida for casual dining and grocery shopping. Stirling Square in Hollywood is very accessible and offers a number of kosher eateries, a take-out Gelato vendor and, one of my favorite kosher grocery stores, The Grove.

The Grove has a modern feel with wide aisles, has an excellent wine, bakery, meat and fresh produce section, offers a wide variety of grab n go foods like sushi and rotisserie chicken, and of course has well stocked shelves for dairy products and all the usual heimishe dry goods brands. Sundays are usually not busy, all of which makes shopping there a pleasure.

Any one who buys kosher food knows it ain't cheap, but The Grove in Hollywood is very competitive, and they do offer a 10% teacher's discount which helps. Still, I always close my eye at check-out. The tab seems to hurt a bit...

The Grove Kosher Market is wonderful. Grand Cafe is a nice place for brunch. Sushi Addicts is is another nice kosher restaurant, especially BOGO Tuesday Nights. Hapees is yet another kosher restaurant there and is something entirely different. Their warm chumus is quite good. There is also a cholov yisrael ice cream shop call Gledaz. They also have parve sorbet and home...
