Wow, what an amazing gem Pita Xpress is! We recently moved from NY to Florida and we've been craving good Middle Eastern food. We've heard great things about Pita Xpress being fresh and tasty but we were not expecting a 100% authentic taste of the Middle East. Let's start with the falafel - genuine green full with parsley and cilantro (no cost spared on the ingredients), fried to perfection and served steaming hot. The Hummus - amazing - creamy as it should be with just the right amount of flavor and sprinkled with parsley. The baba ghanoush - the best! Salads were also amazing - from chopped Israeli salad to coleslaw done just right, sauerkraut was perfect (not too salty - just right) and their pickled veggies are to die for. You definitely want to ask for amba on the side which is a yellowish mango type dressing that goes amazingly well on the falafel. Their pickled cabbage has some amba in it which I think is what makes it amazing. Oh, and the pita bread is so fluffy and grilled to perfection (feels like it was just baked - supper fresh, warm off the grill). Lastly, the owner is super nice. He gave us some cuscus to try and what can I say... amazing! Definitely coming back for the cuscus and want to try their soups which we didn't have room for but on our bucket list for our next visit which will hopefully be very soon! Lastly, the music was perfect and the vibe - as I started the review - feels like you're in the Middle East! Does it sound like I love this place?... I do!

PitaXpress Mediterranean Grill in Fort Lauderdale FL truly went above and beyond! Not to mention, it was delicious. My wife and I were planning to stop by for a pickup on our way to the airport, but long story short we were not going to be able to make it, and I called them to let them know, and told them to give out food to someone who needs it. Next thing I knew, they called me back and said he was on his way to meet me at the airport. I tried to tell him, there’s tons of traffic, you’ll get stuck, don’t worry about it…but he insisted he would meet me. Lo and behold, he took the next 20-30 minutes making his way through traffic, met me right at the terminal door, and made sure that we’d have our dinner as planned. Very impressive and above and beyond! Thanks to that, BH we got to eat. The schwarma Laffa was great, particularly with the Thai Eggplant inside. My wife had the rice & beans appetizer (“soo good by the way”) and the pita Xpress chop salad: “It was delicious and the portions were very large and filling” Can’t wait to go back!

So when you fly into Fort Lauderdale and you made the mistake of booking your car through priceline, and they make you take a bus shuttle, to another van, to the shady car rental place and you don’t end up getting on the road until almost 10 PM you seriously regret not bringing dinner with you, you Google restaurants near you. Pita xpress told me that technically they were closing, but that they would stay open and let me put it in order, which was so nice! Then a few more people came into the restaurant with the same issue, that they were on delayed flights, and came straight from the airport, and they served them with a smile as well. The baguette sandwich I had was fresh and delicious and their salad bar with pickled salads is yummy - but again the fact that they were willing to let me have this fun after 10 PM is Customer Service as good as it gets! Very nice outdoor seating area that I hope to check out next time I’m around.

First I have to say the 1 star is about the service - because the food is EXCELLENT!!! I saw the special online - $5.95 Falafal pita special every day 11 am to 4 pm. I went there specifically to get that - and when I asked the person behind the counter, she was quite rude and told me they don't offer it any more. I explained that I"d seen it on their website, so they must still be offering it. She said (and I must add she was fairly aggressive about the whole thing) no, they don't do the special and she can't ring that price up anyway. It's impossible. I told her I'd come specifically for the special and again she told me they don't have it and she cannot ring it up at that price. I asked for the manager, she told me he just stepped out. Then she said he's gone for the day. So I said she must call him, if they are offering a special online, they must honor it. I told her it's on their websites, and she pretty much didn't agree. I told her to look at it - she got to the main page and said "see? no special." I said "look at the specials/promotions" which she did, and there, in huge letters, it says $5.95. She told me AGAIN that she couldn't possibly ring up the $5.95 price, and told me that they have told the manager ages ago to take down the special ,but did call him and told him again to take it down. I said "please confirm he will honor the price" and she snapped at me that yes he would. She was really confrontational, but I kept my cool and let her ring it up at the $5.95. When she put the receipt on the counter, she told me that now, because of me, they would show short tonight (I guess when they tallied up the takings or whatever) - and I didn't say anything but why is that my fault? It's false advertising if they advertise a special and refuse to honor it - and it was not like I was being unreasonable. It was a MOST UNPLEASANT experience. The guy who made my falafal pita was delightful - but I have a feeling the girl, given the chance, would have liked to spit in my pita sandwich if she could, she was that annoyed with me. Why the aggression and anger, I don't know. Would I go back? For the food, definitely - the falafal pita is outstanding - but for the lousy treatment, not in a million years. IF YOU AREN'T OFFERING THE SPECIAL, THEN TAKE IT OFF...

Situated in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Pita Xpress Mediterranean Grill is an exquisite establishment that seamlessly integrates a dedication to cleanliness with an exceptional dining experience. During my recent visit, I was not only struck by the restaurant's unwavering commitment to maintaining pristine surroundings but also by the delightful quality of their hummus.

First and foremost, Pita Xpress upholds a high standard of cleanliness. The moment I crossed the threshold, I was greeted by immaculate tables, gleaming floors, and a well-kept interior. It was evident that the establishment places significant importance on hygiene, cultivating a comfortable and worry-free dining atmosphere.

Now, let's delve into the hummus. Pita Xpress offers a hummus that's nothing short of extraordinary. Upon savoring their classic hummus, I was instantly transported to the Mediterranean. The creamy consistency and the skillful balance of flavors, infused with just the right quantities of tahini and olive oil, rendered it an absolute standout. It was clear that Pita Xpress takes great pride in utilizing premium ingredients and adhering to authentic recipes to produce a genuinely exceptional hummus.

While their menu boasts a variety of Mediterranean delicacies, from falafel to shawarma, the hummus remains a standout dish that I'd eagerly return for time and time again.

The ambiance at Pita Xpress is inviting and unpretentious, with a touch of Mediterranean charm. It's ideal for a swift lunch, a relaxed dinner with friends, or as a flavorful and wholesome takeout option.

A friend went in to buy me a sandwich. I got a pita sandwich with falafel. The sauce was good but there was one point where it burned the side of my mouth I don't know what their ingredients are but I assume it might have been garlic that was not mixed in completely that is the only downside to the composition of the sandwich as well as the quality. Obviously everything is hand prepared there and the kosher community supports it heavily and with good reason. They are very very often quite busy and I do not know what the most ideal way around that is other than being patient and waiting and entertaining yourself by reading their extensive menu. It would be difficult based on the sandwich that I had to tell you that anything would be anything else would be a bad choice because I think that they take great pride in having so many selections that they can competently serve. That can be difficult with restaurants that have many items on the menu something always has the potential to suffer but I do not believe it is the case with this location. People of all ages were there from elderly folks celebrating a birthday to their young grandchildren so it is a very open atmosphere it's just that it can get really crowded so you do need to offer patients and politeness and really take a good look at the menu first they may have one online and go in with a good idea of what you need as well as asking about anything that might be an allergen or a non-preference in the event that there's something you would have to substitute. My friend likes them greatly and they have taken very good care of her so they get a lot of business from people who are happy with them so my suggestion is go in there choosing to be happy but have an idea of what's on the menu already and know what will make it happen plenty of choices again being said that will lead to a really enjoyable...
