I recently purchased an outdoor set. When I opened the box up at home, I was shocked to find a bird's nest inside the set with bird eggs and straw and wood overflowing into the box. This mess spilled into my car and garage including broken eggs. I immediately called the pickup center, and was told that there were 2 more sets in stock, and that one would put one on hold for me. I was also told to stop at the front desk first, and speak to a manager to see if some type of discount would be offered for the inconvenience of making another trip , reloading the heavy set and the mess done to my vehicle and garage from the nest and broken eggs. When I arrived at the store, Ed, the manager was extremely rude. He said that this was no fault of his own, and that no discount would be offered, but he would offer an even exchange. Before proceeding to customer service, I asked the woman at the front desk if pick up and delivery was aware of my situation and if everything would be ready. She said yes, and to go ahead and proceed. When I arrived at pickup and delivery, the worker was surprised and said that there were no sets available. Even though, I was told the day before one would be put on hold for me and the manager had just told me to proceed for an even exchange. She said all that was available was the floor model, and I explained this was not the same because of wear and tear, and the fully assembled items would most likely not fit into my van, and probably break on the way home. I asked her to talk to the manager Ed about a discount since this was not an even exchange, and again he refused and was completely unaccommodating. I drove away very upset. I've been a loyal Menards customer for many years, but will not be doing business here anymore. I cannot believe this is how customers...
Read moreI purchased a snow blower two days ago in anticipation of the heavy snow. I attempted Starting it for over three hours so I finally gave up and called Menards and the guy on the phone seemed pretty rude asking me if I Had used bad gas. He told me to drain the tank and bring it back if I wanted to return it which I did. When I got there, I met the front desk manager by the name of Stephanie. One of the rudest .” Customer service” managers I’ve ever met. She wanted to give me a store credit which I refused since the box was previously opened, and I figured it was a returned by somebody else. She kept saying that I was gonna get a sore credit and finally after standing my ground, they approved my refund. I asked to speak to the general manager, and he never came to the front desk. A gentleman by the name of Jacob said that they’ve been having trouble with that model and had three or four units that wouldn’t start. If that is the case, why do they keep selling this to consumers and making and making them go through all this. The picture attached is the box before I left the store when I first bought it. Having workers that are rude to customers during these tough times is just nuts. Stephanie needs to work in the back room where she doesn’t have to talk to customers....

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from one of your managers, Stephanie, at the Homer Glen location. Unfortunately, my experience with her was far from satisfactory, and I believe it's important to bring this to your attention.
During my recent visit, I encountered several issues that were exacerbated by Stephanie's unprofessionalism. She was dismissive and unhelpful when I sought assistance with finding specific items. Her attitude was not only rude but also made me feel like my concerns were insignificant. Additionally, when I had questions about a product's warranty, her responses were vague and uninformative, leaving me more confused than before.
I have always appreciated Menards for its customer service and quality products, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope that you will address this matter promptly to ensure that other customers do not have to endure...
