I went here for a wedding. The day was rainy so everything in the surrounding area looked a mess. However, it has low rating because there are several entrances to the park and absolutely no signs telling you where the different structures are located. There seemed to be one large stadium, a medium size one and a small one. There was another building and a YMCA on the property as well. We circled to the "back" where there was a pavilion. This small open space is where the wedding was kept. A lot of vision went into making this space what it became but even at that there was no effort to have sanitary restrooms, a sheltered place for the garbage, nor was there an effort to decorate the fence or ask the staff to park their cars in the regular lot...
Read morePLEASE CUT THE GRASS! I am there 5 days a week because 2 of my kids play baseball and the grass throughout the whole park other then where they play baseball is ALWAYS HIGH. Sharp stickers from the weeds stick to everything! ...And red fire ant piles EVERYWHERE, even kids playing ball are getting attacked by these ants. Us people pay ALOT in taxes and the families who come to this park deserve better. Even when the grass has gotten cut they cut so little that it doesn’t even make a difference, just looks a MESS. Read moreThis is a beautiful park in Homestead. I was at this park volunteering for an adopt a tree program that is held by the Department of Environmental Resources Management.
We gave two free trees to registered individuals all morning. The trees at this adoption were the mulberry, bahama strong bark, dahoon holly, jaboticaba, jamaican caper, and longan to name a few.
It was a successful adoption and we handed out hundreds of new trees to Homesteaders.
