Crystal River Orchard U-Pick Blueberry, Peach and Nectarine Farm and Nursery — Attraction in Homosassa Springs

I was excited to visit this farm today to pick blueberries. I saw the hrs on FB and took the 30 min ride over to find a closed sign on the gate. I called the listed phone number to ask if they were opened and the lady said “ it’s freakin’ hot out so we closed early today”. I stated that FB said the hrs were til 1pm today and she hung up on me. A few mins later she texted me and said sorry they were closed and her dog threw up from the heat. I am an animal lover and that really bothered me. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME IN THE A/C on hot days. We all have weather apps on our phones and we can see the daily temps a week in advance. Needless to say I will not give this place another try. I always try to support the locals but they really make it impossible at times.

I now see that the owner changed her “owner response”. My honest review was given about my experience with this business. It is not made up. My attached photos are screenshots of the harassing texts I started to receive from the owner after I gave her a 1 star review. I have added an additional screenshot of her bizarre texts to me. She sent me a selfie of her and her dog. I initially did not include the photo of her but now I will to be more transparent of the crazy situation. Instead of learning and growing from her customers experience she is dreaming up these incredible stories filled with lies.

The owner has changed her owner response again; to which I will reply. I welcome a police investigation. I have saved the harassing texts I received from this business owner. Also, with a thorough police investigation with subpoenas of phone records , the authorities will see who the aggressor is. And the best part is in the state of Florida filing a false police report or falsely reporting a crime is a punishable offense. A Hidden Gem for Berry and Fruit Lovers – Beautiful, Peaceful, and Perfectly Maintained!

As an avid u-pick fruit picker across the state, I can confidently say that Crystal River Orchard is one of the best farms I have ever visited. The blueberries were absolutely stunning. They are plump, vibrant, perfectly round, and bursting with flavor. You can immediately tell how much care and attention the owners put into the property. Everything is immaculately maintained, from the healthy, abundant fruit to the well-maintained picking rows.

One thing that really stood out to me was how accessible and family-friendly the orchard is. There is no tall grass to wade through or uneven ground to trip over. The fruit is conveniently located close to the parking area, with bushes spaced closely together, making it easy to access without a lot of walking. The wide, stroller-friendly aisles would make it easy for families with young children to enjoy the experience. And to top it off, there were no bugs or ant hills to deal with, which made the picking even more pleasant.

After spending time in the Florida sun, it was such a treat to step into their small indoor, air-conditioned space to briefly cool off and check out their selection of homemade seasonal jams and spreads. Everything is clearly made with love and care, and I can’t wait to try the blueberry jam I picked up.

We always have an absolutely wonderful experience at Crystal River Orchard. The blueberries are incredibly fresh, sweet, and plentiful. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. The farm itself is beautiful—well-maintained, peaceful, and a perfect place to spend a sunny day picking berries.
