It's okay if you don't mind spending a lot of money for second hand merchandise given for free! Yes this place is funding for building homes for people which is great for those less fortunate, but I personally feel you'd sell more if prices weren't priced like you owned a boutique, antique, or pawn shop. Your pricing by going on some website and price matching when some items you could buy brand new for prices your asking or go up the road further and get some of same items cheaper as I have ex. Corning Ware! Your price $10 and up and I paid $3 for same exact dish and got THREE for price of your ONE! Your not located in a high money making city area unless you're depending upon tourist or newcomers which I walked in and walked out buying nothing. I've seen more people walking out empty handed then with anything in their hands and if they did buy anything it was in book and movie section! Ocala has thrift stores that can beat...
Read moreI thrift all over the county…Habitat has the most RIDICULOUS prices. The staff is nice, the store is clean and organized but the prices negate all that good. The sales do not make the prices better they only make them equal with other thrift stores regular prices. It’s like they google image search each item and pick the highest price listed. What someone needs to realize is those are NOT SOLD COMPS, they are asking prices. I could put a couch cushion online and ask a million dollars but that doesn’t mean that’s what it is worth. The store and the community would benefit from fair pricing, instead of having items sit for months and years, the store would be moving items in and out and making money. People do not go to thrift stores to pay retail prices, and the store is only hurting its own bottom line by...
Read moreSo many items are over priced and we found several items priced higher than the original retail price. If you're expecting good prices from this place, think again. Anything decent merchandise is priced high enough to cause you to wonder why you would bother buying it used, when you could have it new for the same, or in some cases even less. I have a great example of how they treat the pricing of merchandise. I saw a used sand blasting cabinet they had marked at $300. It turns out the cabinet is a current item at Harbor Freight which retails for $279.00. I brought this fact to the attention of the clerk hoping for a good explanation for why they're asking for more than it's retail value, and the response I got was very revealing "not everyone knows what the retail value is... Someone will buy it for what...
