Close to University of Hawai'i Mānoa, be careful driving in and out of this park's parking lot. Stalls are angled, and it is a one-way circular driveway. You are exiting on a curved down slope on Dole Street, so cars will be rushing at you and it is difficult to see since there is a lot of on-street parking. Forget about turning left out of this driveway. You will be waiting a while. There are sidewalks on both sides, and a lot of foot traffic from students and skateboarders.
Minimal handicapped parking. Not a lot of parking in general, actually. Maybe 20 stalls?
Bathroom stalls are typical for public parks. Low on toilet paper, no soap. Bring your own antibacterial spray and or hand wipes.
Other than that, this is a relatively nice park if you live in the area and don't mind walking to it. Hard tennis courts are a nice feature. Relatively safe, probably due to the proximity of University of Hawai'i Mānoa faculty housing and the university in general. Lot of Faculty families and their kids, some students. Easy-going vibe.
Cute play yard for kids. No slide but modern and has safety mats below. 2 swings and metal monkey bars in separate area...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful Park! Bathroom facilities, fresh running water, plenty of room for dogs and cats and kids. There were a couple of homeless people that look liked they just stumbled out of the erotic exotic ball in San Francisco still rolling in the bushes covered in poop sperm and blood and the smell of burnt heroin and crystal meth was in the air, but, for the most part they kept to themselves and when they did participate or were engaged in a conversation with anyone they were very helpful and polite and respectful and turned out to be completely harmless, unless you're playing chess! These guys were world-class champions going unnoticed. I guess the poop and sperm were more alluring than any national chess tournament and the prestige comes with, but I digress. I recommend this park to anyone who is breathing as well as anyone who is not. Aloha...
Read moreNice park, has a swimming pool, tennis courts 2 full basketball courts, an area for volleyball/pickleball (not nets), a children’s playground area, 2 baseball fields/soccer football field.
It’s a busy area due to its proximity to The University of Hawaii at Manoa campus as well as Chaminade University/Saint Louis School so it’s rarely empty, cars coming and going onto Dole Street. The Connection between Manoa, St Louis Heights, and Waialae Avenue in Kaimukī area is close.
The major flaw of the park is its parking availability. Parking lot is small, probably only 15-20 cars can fit, so you’d have to find parking on the street, which at times, can be tough during the school year. Good luck...
