I don't leave many reviews but unfortunately this place has gone from one of my favorite places to get food... I do like the food it is good... To pretty much unbearable. This is a shame because I've often told friends and family that it's a good place to go which it used to be. The last three times I've gone, however, which I always order the plate they have neglected to give me pitas. I understand once maybe twice but... there's clearly a service issue. I do buy a bag of pitas whenever I go and it's now $13 for four of them which is outrageous. Two plates and a bag of pitas now cost $60. I usually love to tip servers as I understand that is how they make their money but when you're gouged on the front end it's hard to be friendly on the back end for takeout. Years ago when they started I had some good interactions with the owner and I was always impressed by the work ethic and cleanliness and I thought it was a local jewel, not anymore the place is more and more unkept and seems to be totally out of touch with working class people. Nothing is forever it's sad to realize the aloha in shaloha has been replaced with neglect...
Read moreI would rate this place a 0 if I could. We requested curbside pickup from ordering online and waited almost 40 minutes for the order because the order said it would take an hour for just pita chips and a falafel sandwich, that was no problem for us. When 3:11 came, still no one delivered the order to our car. We finally decided to figure out what was happening. My boyfriend stood at the door for almost 5 minutes with no one greeting him. The boy at the counter ignored him and continued filling up the yellow sauce. FINALLY the boy who was there all along asked if he could help him. When he finally received the bag of food that was sitting on the counter, everything inside was cold and old by now. Why offer curbside pickup if no one is going to deliver? Or even check the parking lot? Worst customer service especially during a pandemic where people are trying to support businesses. I’d love to eat here more but the service sucks and is not worth it if I’m going to be spending 30+ dollars on food that is cold and service that is...
Read moreI was looking forward to eating here, as I’m an Israeli and just moved to Hawaii. I grew up in Raanana / Ramat Gan, so I know authentic Israeli food. I was a bit disappointed as my Pita was very undercooked and had a doughy texture with lots of flour left on top. The falafel balls were heavier than I’m use to, and lacked flavor / seasonings. The salads didn’t taste like back home, but that could be changed with some lemon or lime juice, salt and pepper. The eggplant was delicious. My craving for authentic Israeli food wasn’t satisfied, but I won’t write this place off just yet. I’ll try it again before making that decision. Oddly, I was expecting Israelis to greet me and prepare my food, but that didn’t happen. But that’s no one’s fault, I just hoped for some familiarity when I found this place. I was excited at the idea of not being the only...
