First time eating here as a local. idk, maybe you have to grow up eating at these super old school places to have a complete appreciation for the food. Good things to note: the prices are pretty good, especially compared to other nearby burger joints. The line to order wasn’t fast, but that was mainly because the people in front of me had insanely complicated orders or kept coming back to bother the cashier and add on more items to their order. The cashier was very patient with them so she gets props for that.
The menu, as others have noted, is needlessly complicated. Their hamburgers and bbq burgers come with lettuce, onion, tomato, and cheese by default, and each possible combo of these ingredients being kept or removed from the burger is listed as a separate menu item. Not sure why the burger could have been listed once, and they note somewhere that ingredients can be customized.
I got a Hal Deluxe burger and fries. I thought the burger was pretty mediocre. The beef patty was fine, but the bbq “steak” (which is actually just thin teri beef) was very dry. The buns were also dry. The lettuce and tomato helped add moisture, but it just wasn’t enough. On top of that, the bbq “steak” was pretty tasteless. The fries, on the other hand, were great. I would readily take these fries over McDonald’s fries.
Overall, it wasn’t exactly a stellar meal. The price is nice, but the taste and texture of the food will probably keep me away for the foreseeable future.
@K C congrats on not understanding how politics or the economy work. How is that relevant to a burger joint anyway? Kindly refrain from using the internet until you can post things that won’t cause others to lose brain cells just by...
Read moreParking is a small lot. There are constantly people going in and out of the lot so have patience and it helps to also have a bit of luck. We came on a Sunday a bit after 11am and this place was so busy. There wasn't a huge line of people waiting to order but there were a significant number of people there waiting for food.
**Pro Tips: +You can order ahead. If you know what you like order using your mobile app device so you cut your waiting time down. +If you're out of luck for parking or don't want to bother with the hassle, park at City Mill next door. They have a huge lot and it's literally steps from the restaurant.
You order towards the middle of the establishment. This place is takeout ONLY. They accept card and cash payments. You order items separately and make sure you are clear with your order. The lady helping us was patient but direct. She made sure to read our entire order back to us carefully and made sure we were aware of how much food we ordered.
Orders are called on the left hand side of the establishment. There's another window that distributes the food. Grab your own napkins from the dispensers provided. It will NOT be in your bag automatically.
Was this worth the drive from Ewa Beach to Town--YES. The burgers and hotdogs are delicious and juicy. The fries were fresh and crispy. The drinks are cold and delicious. They do offer dessert and crab mac salad. We will have to try to come back for those next time. Highly recommend coming here for some...
Read morePerfect, local burgers that are simple yet very tasty! Their royal burgers are the best combination of veggies, sauce and the delicious patty. The price is about $5-6 for their burgers and this is pretty cheap compared to other burger joints. While the patties aren't as thick as other places, the flavor is surely packed and potent in each bite! So 4 stars only because the parking is traumatic and the wait time can get long. It's pretty much a guessing game if you'll find a stall or even find a place to wait in the lot. Have a Plan B in mind because you are gambling when you come by. Maybe come by less-peak times (non-meal times). Also, waiting times can get long. It is understandable that they take time to make the burgers but it can get dreadful when you're social distancing in the sun. I will say it's worth the risk to just check if they're busy because you never know if you'll hit the jackpot and score a stall. In the end, when you get that burger, it'll all be worth it and you'll be glad you...
