***We met a terrific young man the other day cleaning up after someone left a bit of a mess in the pavillion. I love his attitude and the little signs he made!*** Burnes Park is a great neighborhood park with lots to love. Playground equipment for both toddlers and bigger kids, a terrific splash pad with changing room and restroom, basketball and tennis courts, a nice picnic pavilion, baseball field, and ice skating loop in the winter.

Tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball court, soccer field, nice playground equipment, splash pad, multiple covered shelters and bathrooms, many picnic tables, stand grill, lots of old and newly planted trees, perennial flower beds. Parking was limited and hard to find when we went on a summer, Friday early evening.

Burnes park is great for all ages and has several different areas to gather. There are lots of mature trees for shade but most of the ammenities are in full sun of course. The park includes a large playground structure (has smaller toddler pieces and larger structures for older elementary), splash pad, two kickball fields (no bases installed nor chalked lines but has backstop, dugouts, home plate, etc), additional "open field" area where the two outfields would meet, restrooms open dawn to dusk, drinking fountains and bottle filling stations, 2 tennis courts, 4 adjustable basketball hoops (no full court option though), paved walking paths, 2 reservable picnic shelters that seat about 70 each (about 50 yardd from each other), a few charcoal grills and picnic tables that are not reserved with the shelters as well for smaller gatherings, and several spots for hammocks. The park is nearly always pretty busy, but people are generally very good about sharing spaces. In winter they have a skating rink and warming...

I lived right next to this park for over 3 years and I absolutely love it. Is it the biggest park? No. Is it the prettiest park? No but it has everything you could ever want from a park. About two years ago they renovated this park and it changed the whole vibe. The people here Al always so friendly whether it's on the tennis courts, basketball courts, or near the play ground. The basketball hoops are nice, the playground is fun, the ice rink in the winter is great, the tennis courts are awesome (also they have pickleball court lines which is another plus since I lived with my grandma for most of the time I've been here), and even though the baseball fields are rarely used and not very well kept up it gives a nice open area to do whatever you would like. Plus the park always has people there so you can always meet new people and say hi to familiar...
