AquaZoo — Attraction in Houston

Went here because of the good reviews and felt that this was a huge waste of time and gas. I walked in with my 2 year old son and there were 2 employees working. Apparently I was invisible because they didn't even acknowlege I was there (was the only customer in the store at the time); no "hello" or anything. Shortly after I walked in another lady came in with her kids (they either knew her or was expecting her) and both employees immediately turned their attention from whatever they were doing to the lady. Yhey were so focused on this lady that the male employee had stepped right in front of me and stood there listening to the lady saying something. He didnt even move as I squeezed past him (while holding my 2 year old) and then almost tripped over a water change hose they had all over the floor. I was there probably a solid 15 mins and still had received no acknowledgement. They also had a cat in a Kennel who clearly didn't want to be in the kennel and it stank of dirty litter box.

Their selection of fish, invertebrates and crustacians was next to nothing. They had a few over priced coral but Petco has a bigger selection than this place had. By this point I was getting fed up of trying to maneuver between junk all over the floor & tiny isles. On my way out I once again had to squeeze past the employees who still said nothing to me.

This place is a complete joke. I have no idea why there are good reviews. Probably just reviews the employees posted themselves to get consumers into the store. Waste of time and effort. Will not ever come back...

I have been in the hobby over 35 years multiple cities. I always try my best to support My LFS. However, Aqua zoo made that impossible for me On recommendation of one of their competitors I went there to find haps and peacocks cichlids. Upon arrival and entry I was not greeted at all. I then proceeded to go down every Aisle. Store associates were circulating helping customers although I would give them eye contact not one ask me if I needed help. While changing aisles one associate was taking water out to another customers car and she looked at me and said excuse. No I will be right back. I found 4 fish but did not purchase any because the horrible service.

Recently I tried again but the poor customer had only gotten worse. It seem like I am not welcome in this store. Again the fish supply was decent However, customers service stayed non existent. I will not be going back. I presume innocence after the first but the second visit worse. When l cannot get one associate to even acknowledge my existence as a human not to mention as a customer. If I could give a zero star rating then I would.

For some this may be a great spot, but from my experience I understand that I am not the customer that they want so I will stay away. With all that being said aqua zoo I will give you more than I receive in two visit I will atleast say bye.. Good luck in the future with your preferred customer demographic.

A very disappointed and...

This is my local fish store. The staff recognizes me now that I am in there a lot and they have always been helpful. Even before I started spending money in there they would help answer questions. They do get busy and with the store being as tightly packed as it is it can be a little awkward navigating the store. I am patient though so I just get out of the way and wait for my turn.

Yes the place is small and the selection is a product of the space available, but I will say the fish the do have are healthy and safe to add to your tank. They care for their fish properly and will refuse to sell you a fish that they are not confident that it is healthy. I have been to a lot of the stores around town and I have on more than one occasion been sold sick fish that get all the rest of my fish sick too. It is, in my opinion the worst thing that a store can do. I consider it down right disrespectful.

I bought a filter there last weekend and it had a crack in it and they did not hesitate to exchange it. They have a good selection of food and chemicals as well as accessories. Lots of driftwood too, that's next on my list.

I would give five stars if the store itself was a little easier to shop and move through. Even so, I will continue to shop there, I prefer it to the larger...
