This is more towards the bakery.
So, let me say that I am obviously too loyal and give way too many chances.
In February I ordered 3 different cakes for 3 of my children (all have birthdays that month)
First cake was very bland but we thought maybe were just being picky.
Second cake same and possibly even worse! The cake was not soft at all. It tasted different than the first one and not like what it should at all. So, I did call in and complain about it and asked for a discount on my next cake. (They are like 25 each)
So, I go to get this one. It was a baby Yoda cake... well, baby Yoda was orange. ORANGE! I know everyone doesn't watch star wars.. I haven't even watched it BUT WE ALL KNOW BABY YODA IS GREEN!
I wish I would have taken a picture. But the point is that they really tried to let me go home with an orange baby Yoda. The lady also tried to say it was because I didn't pick it up the day before. They had left it in one of the display cases. Tried to blame it on the cake touching air too long or the temp not being correct? Again why would you send that home to a customer then?! Then, when we go to eat it, again just dried out no good tasting cake. We even threw it out after the first serving.
Obviously, I like to give several chances.
Because my husband and one of our other daughters just had a birthday and I bought 2 smaller way more expensive cakes. The cakes were very pretty. BUT AGAIN, taste horrible!
I tried and tried to give HEB Bakery a chance but they failed me.
We went and got a cake from walmart down the street. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE.
Also, I purchased a lot of balloons for 4 out of 5 birthdays. The helium didn't even last a day in them before they start to float low. 3 days tops till they hit the floor. Dollar tree balloons last much much longer.
As for the store in general. It is nice, new and huge! I do like going here to shop since it's so close to home but sometimes it's overwhelming with so many people. But that is everywhere over here.
The staff is very friendly every time I go so...
Read moreShopping in the store has many advantages and is a nice store; however, I would not recommend the online shopping at heb in Webster. In the beginning this service was great, but not anymore. Everytime, I do mean everytime, there are items missing. Once it was all the meat that I did not get and had to go back. I switched to another store due to this problem. I thought I would give them one more chance. However, they again failed. I took my printout of my order to check items before I left the pick up area and found multiple items missing. The person was polite and gave us a choice of shopping the item or having them shop. We had them shop. They came out in about 5 minutes so that was good. However, when I got home I realized I was missing another item. I will have to go back to get it. There are many reasons people choose to do online shopping. Some reasons are due to health, or perhaps it is due to schedule. We do pay more for this service. Items are higher when shopping online so we definitely pay for this service. If anyone has a relative who uses online shopping due to disabilities (whether it is pick up or delivery) please make sure you check on them to ensure they get all items they paid for. Otherwise, they are being taken advantage of and are being robbed. Let’s be clear, items you pay for but don’t receive is theft. I would also suggest not having them pick out your meat or fresh produce. When it comes to meat, I may choose the larger package of hamburger, but get a smaller package. I picked out the larger portion for a reason. This is inconvenient if I’m trying to make a larger portion. True, the store rectifies the cost but it is still an issue because I need more meat. The produce they pick may be starting to spoil or it may be a bruised apple. It would be better not to let their shoppers choose these items. I won’t be doing heb Webester online shopping for these reasons. It is not a...
Read moreI’ve been going to H‑E‑B for 15 years. I started going to the one on 646 and I-45. Great experience, awesome store, went there for 10 years. I moved to Webster a few years ago and started going to the Clear Lake store on El Camino Real. It was smaller and didn’t always have as much stuff as the larger ones but still was great, easy to get in and out and no issues really.
Now they’ve closed that one near me and opened the one on I-45 in between Eldorado and Bay Area. This store is a train wreck. Where to begin? Parking is awful. The layout of the parking lot is terrible.
The store is enormous but still seems smaller than any other H‑E‑B I’ve ever been to because there is always a million people in the store. Doesn’t matter when you go the store is packed wall to wall with people. Nothing is stocked intuitively. Stuff is all over the place. And there is too much junk that doesn’t belong in the grocery store. IF I WANTED TO GO TO WALMART OR TARGET THEN THATS WHERE I’D GO.
My second time in the store I went to get some hill country far XL eggs. They are stacked in a cooler section at a 45’ angle so when you pull the eggs out of the crate inevitable broken eggs spilled all over me. I then went thru 12… that’s right 12 cartons from this cooler that were all broken before I found one good set of eggs.
I’ve been 3 times and each time I needed to exchange 5 gallon water jugs. Each time they exchange where you drop off the bottles was so full I couldn’t get tickets for the bottles I returned. So now have to find managers to give me tickets and confuse the cashiers lasting at least an extra 10 minutes in check out.
In any case I won’t be using this store and can’t believe the shut down the small one on El Camino Real. Really irritated by this. They should see they need to keep another store open over here in Webster somewhere and they clearly cannot accommodate everyone at the new store.
I guess Kroger it is...
