AVOID. TLDR: Dishonest and unprofessional manager, low quality and inconsistent food sometimes hit and miss, and way too expensive! Not worth it.
I was a loyal and consistent customer who ordered dinner for my family once a week on average. We wanted to support a local Muslim business.
Sadly, there is an individual there "the manager" apparently who is dishonest and unprofessional.
I'm still waiting for my refund for the 3 sorry excuses for gyros you charged me for on 11/11/2023 and the manager promises a refund. $38.97 plus tax
In the past, every few orders, we'd receive our lamb gyros with old, expired lettuce and certain ingredients missing. I'd just be too tired to bother complaining and let it slide.
There was one time I came to pick up our order and the lovely young lady let me know they didn't have the usual bread for the gyro. I told her I'm not interested in gyro meat on a piece of tortilla wraps. That isn't worth $13! She was very apologetic and offered to add something for free in apology. I accepted. The manager came out and told her no do not give her anything free! He said leave the gyros and then take the other thing. I told him I'd lose money. He offered to add a 2 liter soda. I still lost money but I was tired and just wanted to go home.
Three weeks ago, I ordered 3 lamb gyros plus some pizza, our usual. My husband picked up our order and when we sat down to eat, we had tortilla wraps with gyro meat thrown on top. No toppings. A slight drizzle of white sauce. Nothing else. Dry and pathetic and so disappointing.
Why didn't they communicate? How is this worth $13?? How is this okay?
The most affordable restaurants will inform a customer if any ingredient isn't available or before substitutions instead of trying to be slick and hope no one will take the time out of their day to complain.
I called the store and spoke to the manager who apologized profusely and offered to remake the food but what was the point when they didn't have the ingredients. I asked for a refund for the gyros and he agreed. Two weeks later, no refund.
I'm still angry two weeks later. So disappointing. I have zero intentions of ever...
Read moreNew review since owner replied: I like to see owners who come reply to reviews, good or bad, so we decided to give Space City Pizza another shot. I ordered online (note there was a broken link or two on the front page but if you hunt around you'll find a working one). The online ordering was a little klunky as it was just a huge list of all their food, but wasn't too hard. I got it curbside, and it came out exactly on the time estimated without a wait. The service was excellent this time. We tried the regular "round" pizza and the Detroit style. The Detroit style had an excellent crust and good toppings. Pretty good but my only beef was it seemed pretty small for $12+. The round pizza was just "pizza" to us and was decent but also seemed rather small for being the XL size, but with a small price to match at only $8 for a two topping. All around I'd say Space City Pizza is a pretty good place, better than average but not anything to write home about. A solid 3 stars now that we got good service.
Old review, roughly September 2020: We've tried twice to get pizza from Space City Pizza and failed both times. Once my wife went in to get a slice and the two guys working were sitting at a table and told her it would be twenty minutes, which is odd considering there's a giant sign that says "by the slice or the pie". The other time we called to place a pick up order and multiple calls over a ten minute timespan resulted in a plain old "the person you have dialed can't take your call now". This was at 5pm on a Saturday. So my review can't speak for the pizza but the business has been a no go...
Read moreI was bait switched, by this I mean, I was baited by the window advertisement for two slices of pizza and drink for $5. When I made it in and began to order, it was switched to cheese pizza only was $5, any other topping would be extra. I still wanted to give them a try so I proceeded to still order. I ordered spinach and chicken for my first slice and pepperoni for my other slice, my total was $6.50, which wasn’t too big of a difference. I was advised that it would be a 5-7 minute wait, which I didn’t mind thinking I would get fresh pizza. Nope! I originally started breaking pieces of the pizza off and noticed that the pizza was OLD. They apparently put new cheese on top of the old cheese so it appeared fresh. I then proceeded to pull the topping off and that confirmed that they just placed an additional topping on the pizza in order to give the impression that they were serving fresh pizza. Pizza was paper thin and tough to chew. The spinach and chicken had a good flavor, pepperoni not so much. 50¢ refills, which I don’t understand why and it was extremely hot while I waited for my order. Other than that, cashier was pleasant and helpful. Probably...
