First of all, Ervan Chew Park is NOT a dog park. It's a human park for EVERYONE and it features playground equipment, a baseball field, a soccer field and plenty of wide open space for people without dogs to enjoy God's green earth. Also, a water spray ground (again for people, not dogs...read the sign - it's unsanitary to allow dogs). So why are people calling this park a dog park? I suppose it's because people who own dogs are so desperate for some place they can call their own that they've hijacked the name. Ervan Chew Park reserves a comparatively minuscule fenced-in sliver of land dedicated to off-leash dog use. It's called a "dog-run". If I see any dogs running free outside the dog-run I immediately call the police non-emergency line and report it and it's owner(s), especially if the dog is inside the baseball field. That area is reserved for humans, namely, baseball players of the Little League variety. Stay...
Read morenice little park! there’s only street parking, which is the only thing that brings down the stars. but otherwise it was a wonderful dog park- the fences were nice and high, with two gates to prevent runaways. it was basically a large dirt patch with lots of space for dogs to run, with some seating and a water fountain both for people and dog use. there’s a playground for children right next to the dog park itself, which is great if you’re looking to bring a family! no divided areas for big and small dogs, but people were very attentive to their pets, so I wouldn’t be too concerned as long as your dog plays well with others! puppy had lots of fun- definitely worth it, especially with how convenient the location is to the rest of the...
Read moreVery cute, rectangular, pea gravel, fenced park with well-behaved dogs. Kids playground right outside gate with lots of dogs on leash and moms pushing strollers with nannies. My dog has too much energy for this park since he is still in beginning stages of training so I will return when he is a little older. Not a park for a young, eager dog that wants to run fast and play chase with equally energetic dogs. More of a park to take your well mannered, obedient dog to play fetch and master his obedience. It is a Starbucks and fluffy Giant Poodle or Smart Water and beautifully trained Vizla type of park, all of which I love. Just wasn't right energy level for this stage of my dogs training so we...
