Tucked away in a tiny plaza Miss Saigon Cafe is a real treat - however, better tasting pho broth can be found. I like this place in spite of its short comings in the pho department. The staff are friendly, super friendly, very attentive but not over bearing. Itās a pleasant dining experience - and good food. You canāt really ask for more. On to the review.
Vietnamese coffee, banh mi, pho. Thatās the sequence of my order (from least difficult to most complex - the pho). Are there others awesome things on the menu - yes. But itās like a brunch spot getting a scrambled egg right - if they can do that - go to town on the rest of the menu. The above mentioned are the litmus test for what I consider to be a good Vietnamese restaurant. Miss Saigon didnāt disappoint on the first 2, but faltered on the pho tai. The coffee was strong, rich and served in a traditional metal brew filer perched above a glass mug. The condensed milk as already in the glass waiting for the brew to complete and filter. A glass containing ice accompanied the mug. It tasted as expected. The banh mi was good. Ok - it was really good. I will no doubt be back for another. I recommend the shredded chicken due to its greater flavor profile. The contents were traditional. The bread was crispy on the outside - warm and soft on the inside. It wasnāt overly bready and the proportions were perfect. I donāt know what they sprinkled on top - but it was a perfect complement to their flavor profile. You wonāt be disappointed.
The pho tai - I was sorely disappointed in its overall taste. The complexity was there. You can tell it wasnāt made an hour ago but allowed to steep and develop over time, however, no notes really sang out. It seemed rather flat in spite of the flavors that were obviously present. This was confusing to me. While I did try to finish the bowl, I did so reluctantly, and I didnāt finish it. I couldnāt. I welcome others to try and pho broth and see if Iām being overly critical - but Iāve found really good tasting broth has a very harmonious bursting of flavors on the palate. Where not one is front and center but rather each spice having its moment together. Thatās the best way I can describe it.
Overall this is a solid spot. Try the banh mi. And I would still say to try the pho - maybe it was their off day the day...

When you first walk in, it has a cute decorated vibe. Felt like I was in Paris even though itās Vietnamese š the music also felt very French but was nice and able to converse without any issues.
We started off with the Vietnamese egg rolls and they were tiny but all of the veggies on the plate combined made it taste like a mini ban mi. Was very flavorful.
We both got the Vietnamese pho bowls with beef and the broth was so good even before adding the sauces and veggies. Big portion which I loved because most places up charge for diff prices.
I got the jasmine tea and really soothed my throat which I was needing. Drank the whole thang.
They ended the night by bringing us dessert for free. š Graham cracker with Vietnamese yogurt which we had never had this combo before and LOVED it. So simplistic but a nice touch to our meal.
Kinn (I hope I spelled that right š„¹) was such a pleasure. She was very attentive throughout our meal which we appreciated. Very welcoming establishment. Would definitely return.
Spent $55 with $10 tip. So $45 for all 4 items which I wouldnāt say is too bad. You either want good service and good food or mediocre which this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy favorite restaurant, hands down! A small, family-owned restaurant, with a wide variety of scrumptious dishes ... and I've never found an item that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Each item is fresh and flavorful (allowing you to enjoy the mixture of ingredients) yet light (no heavy sauces or overpowering flavorings).
Although you may have enjoyed Pho (soup)--and many Vietnamese restaurants are limited to Pho and noodle bowls--Miss Saigon offers a wide variety of dishes, from delectable appetizers, flavorful soups, savory entrees, and even some fun desserts.
Recommended items: Spring rolls, and sweet potatoes with a sweet ginger sauce. Vietnamese crepe (savory mixture of shrimp and pork, enclosed in a crispy rice flour crepe, with generous piles of different accompaniments, such as Thai Basil, Mint, Shredded carrot, bean sprouts) Ginger Salmon Hot Pot (an 8-oz. cut of fresh salmon, cooked with a ginger sauce in a clay hot pot, accompanied with a large selection of steamed vegetables that can be added to the pot, including Bok Choy, Broccoli, and leek). Vietnamese iced coffee (caf or decaf), prepared fresh at your...
