Initially, I gave this place a five-star rating but circumstances have changed. I have patronized this establishment for a little over a year. It is one of many good places in North Houston to get your nails done, BUT The woman who they say owns or manages this shop is not a nice person at all. Eleven months in on a random Saturday, I made an appointment and by accident went in early (there was a mix-up on the time for the same tech) and from that point on she had it in for me. During a follow-up incident, I went in to get my nails done, she turned her back as soon as I walked in the shop. Then I was told my technician wasn't available so I had to make an alternate appointment for another day. When I questioned her about writing my name in the book instead of just my telephone number (to prevent further confusion like before), she scolded me in front of about seven people, and yelled," I know how to do my job!". "I am ringing somebody up at the register and don't have time". She was DISRESPECTFUL period! Now, there are people who have bad days and that's understandable. However, I quietly followed up with a phone call to privately discuss the subject matter while mentioning her disrespectful disposition and rudeness since I patronize their establishment on a regular basis. And though she apologized, it was NOT genuine. If so, she would have followed up to ensure we were all right or it was a simple misunderstanding but she never did! Now, she is passive yet MORE aggressive toward me as well as some of her staff including, my technician. If you decide to go please be aware that though the technicians are good, the lady in the front is not truly sincere. She and some of their staff are infected by her mean girl behavior. Honestly, I don't care if it's a restaurant or anywhere you go.... if you're a paying customer you should be TREATED RESPECTFULLY PERIOD. It should be a happy experience cuz we have enough chaos in the world.. no one should have to put up with intimidation when they're spending hard earned money ( sometimes over $100) to enjoy a service done properly. We should not have to tolerate people who cannot be trusted, and compassionate if a question is asked, clarification about a discrepancy or problem. Their intolerance is a grave concern. Fortunately, I have found somewhere else to go and they have exceptional service for the overall experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to this nail salon for a while and usually have a decent experience, but unfortunately, this visit really missed the markāand it wasnāt the first time Iāve had an issue with this particular nail tech. He always seems to be rushed and do mediocre work.
My pedicure was great. The woman who did it was kind, professional, and took her time. I really appreciated that part of my visit.
However, the experience with Peter, who did my acrylic full set, was disappointing and uncomfortable. As soon as he sat down, he made a comment about my hair, asking if I ādidnāt feel like doing it today.ā For context, my hair was styled in a natural curly, half-up, half-down look. When I let him know that curly doesnāt mean undone, he doubled down and suggested I try straightening it. The comment was rude and unnecessary, but I chose not to make a scene and let him continue.
The nail service itself was not much better. I asked for an almond-shaped French tip set. He cut me with the drill, and when I pointed out that one nail was crooked, I had to push for him to fix it. While painting, the white polish ended up all over my fingers and even on my wristāand he made no attempt to clean it until I asked. The finished nails are lumpy with uneven shapes, and the French tips have no crispness or precision. Overall, they look rushed and messy.
When I mentioned my dissatisfaction at the front desk, I said I was happy with my toes but not with the nail service. The response? Silence. No apology, no concern, just complete indifference.
At this point, I think itās time to find a new salon. I donāt expect perfection every time, but I do expect professionalism, respect, and basic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been visiting this salon about once every three weeks since May for a dip manicure and/or pedicure. When I first started, the dip manicure was great! One manicure stretched out 4 weeks when I needed it to. Then I had a nail break THE SAME DAY after getting it done. I went back and asked for it to be fixed and she charged me $10 to fix one nail. I let that slide and kept patronizing this business because the dip manicures last. Then I had a dip manicure done in October, the dip started to chip after only a week and a half. I was out of town and it kept chipping. By the time I was able to go back to the salon (about 2.5 weeks after manicure) it had nearly all chipped away. I explained to the owner this manicure (which had already been paid for and tipped) lasted only a week and a half and after 2.5 weeks was nearly completely gone. She suggested switching to powder because it is stronger. I explained again, I already paid for this and it is gone, thinking she would give a discount or do something to correct the situation. NOTHING, SHE DID NOTHING. I went ahead and decided to try out the powder, maybe I do need something stronger. After a week and two days, AGAIN the powder began to chip away. The atmosphere is great like many of these reviews state, they offer you a drink and are very kind. But the lack of quality without making it right is not ok. I will be looking for a new shop with...
