Top marks, great experience all around! Checks all the usual boxes of a higher end salon in that you are greeted nicely and offered a drink while they let the stylist know you have arrived. The atmosphere inside was modern and clean. Booking an appointment was quick and easy (either by phone or through an online system). The prices ($50 for a men's cut) are obviously more than going to something like a Supercuts, but they also offer a level of service far beyond that. With that in mind, I feel that the prices are fair and very competitive when comparing against other salons of this class. My stylist (Feli Gamino) was on time and great all around. She took the time to understand what I wanted and gave thoughtful, concrete suggestions on what she could do to achieve that. She also had some great insights and suggestions for things which I hadn't even considered. Her execution of these ideas was equally excellent and I have been very pleased with the results. It was my first time coming here, but I will definitely be back! As a bonus, if you arrive a little too early or have some time to kill afterwards, the coffeshop next door is also...
Read moreMy hair is cursing me out for getting services from this salon. For $300+ I am left with uneven haircut and itchy scalp. Although, I want to say that the stylist was really sweet to talk to.
So I went for a cut after 1.5 years with a lot of hopes, especially after looking at their reviews but was disappointed with the results. I now have uneven tips and short hair when I requested the stylist not to cut more than 2 inches. when she finally showed my hair I was shocked to see the length. For reference, my hair was till my hip before the cut, now it’s above shoulder length.
I also got a root touch up and match for my hair. I have no clue what colour was used but every single time I wash my hair I have colour coming off. The colour was smothered on my scalp and hair, which in turn left marks on my skin. To remove the stains from my forehead alcohol wipes were used and rubbed aggressively. I have skin burns because of that (picture shared). I have been colouring my hair for over a decade now but never had colour coming...
Read moreWhile visiting a nearby business for a workout, I witnessed a group of their staff harassing a man who had accidentally parked in one of their reserved spots, which is easy to do if your new to this shopping center being the parking lot is so small. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism and kindness, they were incredibly rude and condescending.
What should have been a simple request to move the car turned into an unnecessary spectacle. Their behavior was not only unprofessional but also highly off-putting. Given the number of staff outside, it seemed like they didn’t have many customers, which makes their aggressive approach even more baffling.
Based on what I witnessed, I would not feel comfortable doing business with Prism Salon. Professionalism and respect go a long way, and unfortunately, that was sorely lacking in this interaction. If this is how they treat people outside the salon, I can only imagine what the service inside...
