Coffee-Q (Food Truck) — Restaurant in Houston

First, I wanted to like this food truck. I’m a big supporter of small business people, especially food & beverage folks.

This is my first negative post EVER on Google and/or Yelp. And it’s not even regarding the quality of the Pretzel Brisket Sandwich, as bland and below average in taste as the BBQ was.

Nope, it was the lack of beef between the buns that caused me to ask the owner about his portion size. He hesitated and finally said 5 oz.

I’m a restaurant guy and I know portion sizes. There was maybe 2- 21/2 oz on that sandwich and I’m being generous.

Still, I thought my quiet, professional approach in questioning the owner would result in an apology and an offer to make it right. After all, maybe he made a mistake when he dished out the beef…it happens in the heat & fury of a Kitchen.

Nope, he just stared…and he gets my first negative review in return.

2 stars for false advertising on their "carne asada". It's ground beef. Don't let them tell you otherwise. It's just spicy ground beef and they serve paltry amounts on their dish. Wife got the "carne asada nachos" and they were little more than stadium nachos (complete with the liquid nacho cheese).

I got the brisket sandwich and it wasn't bad. The portion of brisket on the sandwich was lacking but the flavor was nice and smoky.

Absolutely terrible service. I waited an hour to get a small quesadilla and after an hour of this terrible counter person ignoring me and arguing with me when I just asked for a refund because I've been waiting an hour and he served everyone before me that came after me. Then the food came out and he said I can have my food and a refund and then when he gave me the refund he wouldn't give me my food and tried to have me thrown out of the venue. 0/10 DO...
