grocery shopping at hmart is pleasant. nothing to complain about. parking can be a bit tricky because it's mostly full everytime I go there, but you will still find a spot somewhere in that lot. i came here recently and i was so happy to see the "new" carts.. honestly i havent been here for years but yea the new carts made me smile.

i normally shop at heb and noticed hmart prices are a bit lower compared to heb in certain items like fruits or produce but better quality. yay!

i remember they would always have good selection of products and i could tell that everything has improved since i was here last time idk like 2-3 years ago prob.

quick summary - they have couple of restaurants where u can sit and dine in. they have a bakery. they have sections for small stores owned by others that sell handmade items. sections for kitchen products. aisles for drinks and chips and those typical stuff you can buy at heb.

so you aren't missing out to buy something when you shop here unless it's specifically a heb product i suppose. i was able to buy everything and my total came out 1/2 less compared to heb, which for me was a big steal! so im planning to come here more often.

oh also i really like their plastic bags in the produce section. it's thick and big enough to even cover the quart of watermelon slice. and the way they package things are so slick, no juice or stuff seeping out when you pick it up. sounds something minor but those things tend to bother me so that was a big plus. and i use that plastic bag once more to scoop my cats litter (lol) - but they dont actually have lots of pet products here.

anyways if you never been here, i...

This is the first and also the last time I'd ever be in the clothing and accessories store inside this HMart. The owner were soooo fake! She acted all nice and friendly when I was trying on hair clips to purchase and the moment she was done running my card she switched her attitude immediately. My brother was resting a headband on top of my 3-month-old son's head and she said something along the line of "Too much trying" in her broken English and some Korean with an attitude. He literally just put it on a few seconds before she said that. Mind you, this was a hard headband, not those elastic ones and it was just resting on my son's head because my brother was just trying to distract him so he wouldn't cry, plus we wouldn't want to squeeze his soft head with that band either. While she was running my card, I was even about to buy another dress and a pair of pants for my mom, luckily I didn't. When she came back out to say that to me after finishing running my card, I said "Excuse me" just so she could repeat what she just said. I was honestly in shock with that attitude of hers. After repeating what she said, she slammed my card on one of the boxes at the store and just told me "Sign" (meaning she wanted me to sign the receipt). Wouldn't wanna waste another dime on any of the stuff in her store. 100000% would...

Love everything about this place.

They were one of a few stores since the beginning of the pandemic that really made it's customers feel safe with their protocols.

The bakery sells the best baby choux ever. And their desserts and breads are sooooo good. Yum.

They have some of the freshest vegetables and are competitive in pricing. They carry all types of fruits and vegetables too. They have a great assortment of tofus too.

I love their banchans (side dishes) like kimchi, seaweed salad, fish cakes, seasoned bean sprouts and the list goes on. All delicious.

Their meats and seafood are diverse and fresh. Now their meats are a little pricy but they are great quality. Serious.

They carry all the Asian staples and more. Aisles of noodles, sauces, snacks, and more.

They have a lot of Korean prepared foods too - spicy fried chicken nuggets (my fave), japchae, kimbibap, bulgogi bowls and much more.

If you're looking for soju and wine, they have that there too.

One of my favorite areas is their household stuff. And their slippers. I love their slippers. If you are looking for the Korean clay pots or their noodle pots, they have them along with a lot of other great kitchen items.

They also have a good court filled with delicious foods. So go to shop and grab lunch or dinner too.

This is one of my...

Very disappointed in quality control. Bought lychee on Sunday afternoon and opened Tuesday morning to pack it in my son’s lunchbox to find it all moldy. I bought marinated pork which said it was good for another week. Cooked it Tuesday morning, packed lunch for myself and my son. It was sour. It was bad. I had to worry all day thinking my four year old son was going to have food poisoning. Thankfully he ate one bite and didn’t like the taste and he didn’t eat it. I wanted to give hmart a chance to make up for it and sent an email about it. They did not respond at all. This is not the first time. I’ve bought strawberries and next day when I opened the top where it showed was perfectly fine but underneath was all moldy. As a Korean that grew up with hmart back in New York, I’ve never encountered such bad quality of the food. Here in longpoint location I’ve gotten such poor quality produce time and time again. From now on I’m just not going to purchase any produce or fresh goods here.

The place to go for your Korean grocery shopping needs. Everything we need to cook our home cooked staples are readily available here. Granted, this is the oldest location and not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it’s where our moms and grand moms shop :) Food court is a great intro to what would normally be street food/food truck food in Korea. It’s hot or miss with some of the offerings, but it’s okay. Plenty of parking, efficient checkout, all of the kimchi and banchan I don’t want to make at home… :) Added spring 2023–> pics of food court options. If you’ve seen Jinny’s Kitchen on NETFLIX, yes, you can get some Korean hot dogs here in the food court and Korean style Chinese Jajangmyun and Jjampong

If you're not well versed in Korean cuisine this is the place to enter a whole new world. We've been shopping at H Mart for over four years and every time is still an adventure. What new fruit/ramen/sauce/staple will we find this time? For those who know Korean cuisine I can't imagine a better place to get your staples. I cannot recommend these stores enough for just the experience alone much less the quality and selection. I haven't even touched on the restaurants available. Would you like a Korean corn dog(a must) and a platter of Korean BBQ? It's all here. Admittedly we're foodies so of course it's exciting for us but our kids who generally couldn't care less loved it as well.
