Mama Chang — Restaurant in Houston

Let me tell you a story of steller customer service. My parents are handicapped and I'm unable to get them a meal except through ordering process today.

I order my food which came out to be incorrect. Chicken Fried Rice instead of Shrimp Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken (never received) and 2 spring rolls/1 jumbo egg roll.

I called Door Dash (i ordered through Mama Chang's website and it goes through Door Dash) and they said they would promptly have a redelivery. Great! Waited an hour and called Door Dash and they said that the order is under investigation and did not qualify for redelivery. After pressing the issue the person revealed that the issue was on Mama Changs side and I would need to call them for a refund.

When I called them they said they had made the missing order and it had been sitting there. Afterwards the person from Mama Changs called and said that it was under investigation on why it was never received.

At 8pm we still hadn't received our food and I called just before closing and the person on the phone (Alexis I believe) said they would deliever it personally.

Most stores wouldn't do that. I will be returning to this store.

Been coming here since I was 5. They used to be in a fiesta mart for 40 years. Family owned and run, now second generation. You can still catch the OG mama and papa chang once awhile, they still work and greet their customers here from time to time. All their family members and staffs are super nice folks with amazing work ethics.

During the pandemic, when everyone else was increasing their prices, mama chang stuck to their pricing. I asked the owners how they’re able to do that they answered, our customers are already hurting, how can we pass on more cost to our customers at this time. Man what class! And when they finally increased their price more than a year later, they only increased it by $1.

Food is always amazing and fresh. Their special combo plate is awesome. You are not going to find cheaper prices anywhere else for the same value you are getting. Whenever I or others that I saw experienced an issue, they always rectify it on the spot and make it right. They are expanding their menu and offerings at this new location, can’t wait to try all...

Apparently no one who reviews this place has had good Chinese food in their lives. Nasty. Nasty nasty. If you use spaghetti noodles for lo mein , you aren’t a Chinese restaurant. You’re a pretender. The low mein is just spaghetti noodles covered in grease and cold you can’t call that lo mein. the fried rice is not fried rice it’s some kind of Mexican rice. Neither of those were eaten. The chicken tasted reheated and not fresh. Sick. The pepper steak was super chewy and no flavor. The only decent thing was the cabbage which is really pathetic. I will never ever eat here again. Panda Express is fresh and you get large portions for the same amount of money. I’m so mad at the reviews on here. It almost seems like if an American tried to open a Chinese place it’s that bad. When you order is ready 2 min after you palce the order you know you got old food reheated , I imagine this place must be infested with bugs cuz who can make food this lazy and still have a clean restaurant.
