We came for the human claw machine and what to say. $20 for 10 seconds. The choice of the prizes in there were not like the social media videos we saw. We walked up to ask about the claw machine, a young girl gave us all wrong information, $20 for 20 seconds, yes there are plushies, then another woman stepped in. Very sarcastic. My 9 year old asked if there are plushies there. The woman proceeded to LECTURE my child about tarrifs and prices make it not possible to have plushie in there. There were big bottles of Cheese puffs and boxes in that pit. The place had so many empty machines and not like a place that just opened. The remnants of their grand opening a month ago was still in the parking lot. We actually left and went 2 miles down the road to a much better claw machine place.
REPLY TO THE BUSINESS: As you explained a tariff is the reason there are no plushies in the human claw to my nine year old, I did realize that this conversation was pointless. As not to upset my child, we walked over to see your prizes (as you suggested) ,which as you can see in the pic of the cheese puffs and other boxed items, I explained to her your "decoration plushies" were excluded. NOT one time did I disrespect anyone. I didn't say a word. Your original video on social media showed the human claw FULL of plushies. Try working on your customer service to be age appropriate, since your main customers are children. My child left disappointed since we came...
Read morePassed by here multiple times and was never able to check this place out until recently. There is always a very energetic crowd but is also very relaxing. The Atmosphere here is Like No Other Place in Houston and I genuinely mean that! I believe Maxim Tokyo is Open Wed- Sun There are vendors Fri - Sun for Food Street and the way everything is set up is just like a Fun Night Out in Vietnam joined with Tokyo Claw Games aspect!! I love this place. Just walk around and see everything that they have available grab some food drinks or a snack and find a seat or go inside for games and beverages. It's the closest thing you'll get to Vietnam in Houston as well. No other place does this, this place is legitimately, genuinely One of a Kind! Little red tables, chairs, Different types of food and delicacies. They have drinks, snacks and some vendors even sell cold beer, toys and gifts. The Inside is very spacious with a lot of great Different Prizes and Really Nice Claw Machines. Employees are super friendly and inviting. There is even a Human Claw Machine which is great for the kids and they sell various very tasty teas and boba.. WAY too many good things to say about this place. GREAT Place FOR FAMILIES, FRIENDS really ANYONE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking this amazing place out and inviting some friends and family for a wonderful time. Best Vibe in Chinatown Hands down. I have never been this excited about...
Read moreWhile visiting Houston, we decided to stop by Maxim Claw because we absolutely love claw machines. From the moment we walked in, we were charmed by the cute ambience and decorations. We kicked things off with the human claw machine, which was an absolute highlight, being the claw yourself and grabbing multiple items made it incredibly fun and satisfying.
To our delight, the arcade was filled with claw machines featuring our favorite Kawaii childhood characters, along with some new ones. It felt like stepping back into childhood as we excitedly tried every machine. You won’t leave empty-handed or disappointed! The experience was even more satisfying knowing that we could win multiple items ourselves rather than simply buying them from a store. It made every victory feel that much more rewarding.
A special shoutout to Dennis, who made our visit even more memorable. His kindness, attentiveness, and enthusiasm cheering us on and checking in added a personal touch that made the experience even better.
If you’re in the area, this is an absolute must-visit. Thank you, Dennis, for making our time at Maxim Claw...
