This has been my go-to Kroger location since I moved to the area about 5 years ago and had come accustomed to having pretty good experiences. I've noticed a slight change in the overall feel of the store in the past month or so.
Then last week I asked a meat department associate if they had any oxtails. She then turned to another associate to ask him. Not a problem, until, they begin to speak in Spanish (unaware that as an African American woman I comprehended most of their conversation) about the fact that they did HAVE OXTAILS IN THE BACK BUT ONLY PUT THEM OUT A COUPLE PACKS AT A TIME BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE STEAL TOO MUCH OVER HERE.
As a regular customer who visits this store on average 2-3 per week, I was completely offended! So I called the store to speak with a manager (Phillip) who didn't take any real interest in the situation. He merely offered the "corporate apology" and that was it. Never asked my name or...

The store and this whole complex is too small to accommodate the millions of people who now live here. Oak forest is dumb. Old white suburb that wants to keep the “leave it beaver” ideas from the 50s even though that’s been done and 2024 is totally different times. But that’s cool.
Kroger is necessary, however, this parking lot is one of the worst in Houston and is very stressful getting in and out of when it is one of the only full service grocery stores and shopping centers close by. Please remodel and make this place more efficient!
